News coming from Canada this morning as the Toronto Six made a signing today. Defender Sarah Steele will be joining the team for their inaugural season.
The Canadian native played 4 years at Boston University from 2013-14 through 2016-17. then Spent the next 3 years oversees in the EWHL playing for clubs like EHV Sabres Wien and KMH Budapest.

Dosdall-Arena, an original NWHLer, wil be entering her sixth season in the league and with the Riveters.
The 2018 Isobel Cup Champion has played in 80 career games with 25 points placing her second all time on the Riveters (games) and defenders (points).
Dosdall-Arena also is second all time on the Riveters in penalty minutes with 60.
Dosdall-Arena was a 2020 All Star, and during the 2019-20 season she would record two points in 13 games played, and would score a goal in the 2020 NWHL All Star Game.

News coming out of Connecticut today as the Whale signed another forward, Alyssa Wohlfeiler. She previously played for the Whale during the 2015-16 season.
SIGNING NEWS: Alyssa Wohlfeiler has signed to return with the @CTWhale_NWHL for the upcoming season ðŸ³
The veteran Wohlfeiler will be added to the young forward core that the Whale have. She comes with plenty of experience.
She played her college hockey at Northeastern University for 4 years. Where she tallied 32 goals and added 39 assists for a total of 71 points. It is also interesting to note that during her senior season, she was the captain of the team.
After college, she would play 3 seasons with the Boston Blades of the CWHL. She played 52 games, in which she scored 9 goals and added 14 assists for 23 points.
When the NWHL got started, she would join the Connecticut Whale, and in her lone season she would play 17 games and tally 3 goals and add 4 assists for 7 points on the year. She would not re-sign with the Whale, instead opting the European leagues.
She played 1 season in the SDHL for HV71, and she would also play in the Frauen-Bundesliga for EC Bergkamener Bären before returning to the NWHL to play for the Boston Pride.
Last season, she would play 14 games for the Pride and would score 5 goals and add 11 assists for a total of 16 points.
Today in the National Women’s Hockey League the Metropolitan Riveters have re-signed a trio of players from last season’s team.
SIGNING NEWS: The @Riveters have re-signed forwards Tatiana Shatalova (@Shatal_17), Brooke Avery (@BigBirdie16) and defender Jayne Lewis (@JayneLewis24) for the upcoming season 💪
Tatiana Shatalova recorded two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 22 games for the Riveters in her rookie season.
Before joining the NWHL, Shatalova had played in the Russian Women’s Hockey League for five years starting at the age of 15.
Shatalova had a stretch of nine points in eight games for the Riveters, which included a goal and an assist in the Buffalo Believes Classic outdoor game.
Avery Also Returns for Second Season
Brooke Avery has re-signed with the Riveters for her second season, and in her rookie season she recorded five goals in 21 regular season games.
Avery previously played for University of New Hampshire and Syracuse in College before coming to the NWHL.
Lewis Returns to the Blue Line
Jayne Lewis played only two games last season for the Riveters, but she made an instant impact as she would record a goal and two assists.
Before joining the Riveters, Lewis played for Sacred Heart and last season she would record 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points in 32 games.
Lewis ended her collegiate career with 139 points in 126 games played.

Friesen, the 2nd overall pick of the 2020 NWHL Draft, played her senior year at Clarkson University where she scored 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in 28 games.
Her first three years were played at St. Cloud State University, and served as captain in her junior year.
Friesen developed at St. Mary’s Academy Prep in Winnipeg, and in her final season (2015-16) she would record 26 goals and 52 assists for 78 points in 45 games.

2 – Connecticut – F Kayla Friesen, Clarkson University
Kayla Friesen is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She played 4 years of college hockey at two different schools. She spent her first 3 years at St. Cloud State University, and her last year at Clarkson University. She tallied 50 points at St. Cloud State and added another 30 points at Clarkson University.
Friesen brings an impressive scoring pedigree to the Whale, and she also has leadership experience. She was the Captain of her team at St. Cloud State University during her junior campaign.
She is the eighth forward signed so far this offseason.Â

Today in the National Women’s Hockey League the Buffalo Beauts added a trio of players for the 2020-21 season.

Woods, 24 year old London, Ontario native, played in over 147 games for Quinnipiac where she would register 47 goals and 59 assists for 106 points, and be selected by Buffalo with the 14th overall pick in the 2016 NWHL Draft.
Woods played two seasons in China for the CWHL where she would score 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 56 games played.
Last season Woods played for Leksands IF of the SDHL where she would record 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 35 games played.
