Welcome to the TXHT PHF Weekend Recap for the Weekend of Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th, 2022, plus news coming out of the weekend.
Saturday, December 3rd, 2022
Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Montreal Force – 1p ET
- In Montreal the Force would host the Connecticut Whale, who would be making their return to action after playing opening weekend, and in the first period Janka Hlinka would score to give the Whale the 1-0 lead. In the second period Taylor Girard would score to grow the Whale’s lead to two, but goals from Kristina Shanahan and Christine Deaudelin would tie the game at two for the Force. Then in the third period Kennedy Marchment would score for the Whale while Catherine Daoust would score for the Force to send this game to overtime tied at three. After a scoreless overtime period it would be Ann-Sophie Bettez in the shootout to give the Force the 4-3 victory over the Whale.

Game #2 – Metropolitan Riveters v. Minnesota Whitecaps – 7p ET
- In Minnesota the Whitecaps would play host to the Metropolitan Riveters for a weekend series, and in the first period Denisa Krizova and Sidney Morin would score to give the Whitecaps the 2-0 lead. In the second period Patti Marshall would net a pair of goals for the Whitecaps to grow their lead to four, but Madison Packer would score to get the Rivs on the board. Then in the third period Kendall Cornine and Amanda Pelkey would score for the Rivs, but it would not be enough as the Whitecaps would hold on to defeat the Riveters 4-3 to take the first game of their weekend series.
Sunday, December 4th, 2022
Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Montreal Force – 12p ET
- Back in Montreal for the second game of their weekend series the Connecticut Whale would look to bounce back against the Force, and in the first period Emma Keenan would open up the scoring for the Whale to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Sarah Lefort would tie the game for the Force, but Alyssa Wohlfeiler would score to retake the lead for the Whale. Then in the third period Kaity Howarth would strike for the Force, but Kennedy Marchment’s tally would give the Whale the 3-2 victory over the Force.

Game #2 – Metropolitan Riveters v. Minnesota Whitecaps – 2p ET
- In Minnesota the Whitecaps would battle the Metropolitan Riveters for the second game of their weekend series, and after a scoreless first period Jonna Albers would score for the Whitecaps while Minttu Tuominen would strike for the Rivs for the 1-1 tie. Then in the third period Sydney Brodt, Natalie Snodgrass, and Liz Schepers would score to give the Whitecaps the 4-1victory over the Riveters.
News and Notes
- The PHF announced that Boston Pride goaltender Corinne Schroeder has been named Player of the Month for November.
- Schroeder would start her PHF career with three straight shutouts, and have a shutout streak of 183:15.
- Schroeder would go 5-0-0 in five games played, and she would post a 1.69 goals against average with a .953 save percentage.

3 Stars of the Week
First Star – Kennedy Marchment (CTW)
- Kennedy Marchment would record a goal and an assist in the Connecticut Whale’s 4-3 shootout loss on Saturday to Montreal. Then on Sunday she would score the game wining goal to give the Whale their first win of the season when they defeated Montreal 3-2.
Second Star – Minttu Tuominen (MET)
- Minttu Tuominen would record three goals for the Metropolitan Riveters, and all three goals would all come on the powerplay. Tuominen would record two of her goals on Saturday in the Riveters 4-3 loss to Minnesota. then on Sunday she would score her third goal of the weekend in the Riveter’s 4-1 loss to Minnesota. The goals would be her first of her PHF career, and the first for a defender from Finland in PHF history.
Third Star – Sydney Brodt (MIN)
- Sydney Brodt would record a goal and two assists on Sunday for the Minnesota Whitecaps in their 4-1 victory over the Riveters.
