Welcome to the TXHT PHF Weekend Recap for the Weekend of Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th, 2021
Saturday, November 6th, 2021
Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Metropolitan Riveters
- In the first game of the PHF era the Metropolitan Riveters would host the Connecticut Whale at Mennen Ice Arena. In the first period Alyssa Wohlfeiler would open the scoring to give the Whale the 1-0 lead, but later in the period the Riveters would take advantage of the powerplay as Emily Janiga would score to tie the game at one. In the second period it would be penalty filled as both teams would combine for seven penalties, but it would be during even strength when Kelly Babstock would score to give the Rivs their first lead of the game. Then in the third period Rebecca Russo and Madison Packer would score late in regulation to give the Riveters the 4-1 victory over the Whale.

Game #2 – Toronto Six v. Buffalo Beauts
- In Buffalo the Beauts would host the Toronto Six, and in the first period Shiann Darkangelo would strike on the powerplay to give the Six the early 1-0 lead, but late in the period Missy Segall would score to tie the game at one. In the second period Leah Marino and Lindsay Eastwood would score for the Six to take a two goal lead. Then in the third period Autumn MacDougall and Taylor Accursi would score to tie the game at three for the Beauts, but a late powerplay tally by Michela Cava would give the Six the 4-3 victory.

Game #3 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Boston Pride
- In Boston at Warrior Arena it would be a rematch of the 2021 Isobel Cup Championship game as the Pride hosts the Minnesota Whitecaps, and in the first period Taylor Wenzckowski would strike on the powerplay and Jillian Dempsey would score to give the Pride the 2-0 lead. In the second period McKenna Brand and Maghara McManus would score to grow the Pride’s lead to four. Then in the third period the Whitecaps would get four goals as Taylor Turnquist and Lexie Laing would score, and Allie Thunstrom would net a pair, but goals from Kayla Friesen and Evelina Raselli would give the Pride the 6-4 victory over the Whitecaps.

Game #1 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Boston Pride
- In Boston the Pride would host the Minnesota Whitecaps for the second game of their weekend series, and after a scoreless first period McKenna Brand would score while shorthanded to give the Pride the 1-0 victory. Katie Burt would stop all 27 shots she faced in her first game back in the league to get the shutout.
- Michael’s TXHT Recap – A One Goal Game
Game #2 – Connecticut Whale v. Metropolitan Riveters
- It would be a wild one at Mennen Ice Arena as the Metropolitan Riveters would host the Connecticut Whale for the second game of their weekend series. In the first period Nora Maclaine and Kendall Cornine would score to give the Rivs the 2-0 lead. In the second period Madison Packer would score to grow the Rivs lead to three, but goals from Amanda Conway, Taylor Marchin, and Alyssa Wohlfeiler would tie the game at three for the Whale. Then in the third period Wohlfeiler would net her second of the game and Emma Vlasic and Taylor Girard would score to give the Whale the three goal lead. The Riveters would get goals from Emily Janiga and Haley Frade, but the Whale would hold on to win 6-5.

News and Notes
- The PHF announced all rule changes for the season for the 2021-22 season.
- Rules were changed regarding faceoff infractions, standings points, and more.

- On Sunday morning it was announced that Connecticut Whale forward Emily Fluke would be suspended for one game.
- Fluke punched Metropolitan Riveters forward Kelly Babstock after being slew footed by Babstock on Saturday, November 6th.
- The game was served on Sunday, November 7th.
Standings

3 Stars of the Week
First Star – Alyssa Wohlfeiler (CTW)
- Alyssa Wohlfeiler (3g, 1a, 4p) would be a force for the Connecticut Whale as she would score the first goal of the PHF era in a 4-1 loss to the Metropolitan Riveters on Saturday. On Sunday Wohlfeiler would be the catalyst for the Whale to defeat the Riveters as she would score two goals and record an assist in the 6-5 victory.
Second Star – Rebecca Russo (MET)
- Rebecca Russo (1g, 4a, 5p) would play an important role for the Riveters as she became the PHF’s leading scoring to start the season. On Saturday against the Whale Russo would score a goal and have two assists in the Riveters 4-1 victory. Then on Sunday Russo would get a pair of assists in the 6-5 loss to the Whale.
Third Star – Katie Burt (BOS)
- Katie Burt would make one appearance for the Boston Pride over the weekend, and on Sunday she would record a 27 save shutout as the Pride would go undefeated against the Minnesota Whitecaps to start the season. The game marked Burt’s first game back in the league since March 9th, 2019, and her first career PHF shutout.
