  • Toronto Six v. Metropolitan Riveters – 1p ET
    • In the inaugural game of the 2020-21 NWHL season, the Toronto Six make their official debut against the Metropolitan Riveters. In the first period it would be the Leila Kilduff show as she would net two goals to give the Riveters the 2-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, the Riveters would get one more goal as Emily Janiga would score the empty-netter to secure the 3-0 shutout victory over the Six.

  • Boston Pride v. Minnesota Whitecaps – 4p ET
    • In what would’ve been a rematch of the 2020 Isobel Cup Championship game, the Boston Pride and Minnesota Whitecaps finally go do battle and it would be a tightly contest matchup. In the first period Christina Putigna would strike for the Pride first, but Jonna Curtis would strike to tie the game at one. Then in the second period Winny Brodt Brown would score and ugly goal to give the Whitecaps the 2-1 victory.

  • Connecticut Whale v. Buffalo Beauts – 7p ET
    • In the final game of Day 1 for the 2020-21 NWHL season, the Buffalo Beauts take on the Connecticut Whale in a rematch from the 2020 Isobel Cup Playoffs. After a scoreless first period Kayla Friesen would score her first career NWHL goal to give the Whale the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period while on the powerplay Kristin Lewicki would score to tie the game at one to force overtime. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, both teams would faceoff in a shootout to decide the victor, and it would be Katelynn Russ netting the lone goal of the shootout to give the Whale the 2-1 victory over the Beauts.
