News

  • PWHL Hamilton announced that they have hired Meghan Duggan as their new General Manager.
    • Duggan is one of the most decorated players in US Women’s Hockey history winning three Olympic medals (1 Gold and 2 Silver), and 8 World Championship medals (1 Silver and 7 Gold).
    • Duggan has spent the last five years with the New Jersey Devils, most recently as Director of Player Development.
    • Duggan has also been a special consultant to the PWHL for both hockey operations and player safety.

  • PWHL San Jose announced that they have hired Troy Ryan as both Head Coach and General Manager.
    •  Ryan served the past three seasons as head coach of the Toronto Sceptres, and was the Coach of the Year in 2024.
    • Ryan departs Toronto having led the Sceptres to the league’s best regular season record in 2024 and the second-best mark in 2024-25, both culminating in playoff berths.
    • He also served nine years with Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team, including the last six as head coach, guiding Canada to an Olympic gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games and three IIHF Women’s World Championship titles (2021, 2022, and 2024), along with two world championship silver medals.
    • The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native stepped down following the conclusion of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan, where he led Canada to a silver medal.
    • Ryan becomes the first person in the PWHL to be both coach and GM at the same time.

  • The PWHL announced the finalists for the 2026 Coach of the Year Award.
    • The finalists are Kori Cheverie (MON), Carla MacLeod (OTT), and Kris Sparre (BOS).

Vegas Golden Knights v. Colorado Avalanche – 8p ET – Game 2

  • In Colorado for Game 2, the Avalanche look to bounce back to even the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period, Ross Colton would score to give the Avalanche the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Jack Eichel would score and Ivan Barbashev would net a pair of goals to give the Golden Knights the 3-1 victory over the Avalanche to take the 2-0 series lead.
