Montreal Canadiens v. Carolina Hurricanes – 8p ET – Game 1
- In Raleigh, the Eastern Conference Final begins as the Hurricanes hosted the Canadiens and in the first Carolina took the 1-0 lead with Seth Jarvis second of the postseason but then Montreal tied the game with Cole Caufield’s fifth of the playoffs. Then, Phillip Danault netted his second to put the Habs up 2-1 and then Alexandre Texier got his fourth of the playoffs to put Montreal up 3-1. Ivan Demidov then scored his third as the Canadiens took the commanding 4-1 lead. In the second, Carolina got within a pair when Eric Robinson struck with his first of the postseason. In the third, Juraj Slafkovský got a pair, the second on an empty net, as the Canadiens swiftly beat the Hurricanes 6-2 to take the 1-0 series lead.
