- In the world’s worst secret, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they have fired head coach Bruce Boudreau.
- Boudreau stepped into the role during the 2021-22 season, and throughout the last two months has been subject to heavy rumors that he would be getting fired.
- Assistant Coach Trent Cull was also relieved of his duties.
- The Canucks also announced that they have hired Rick Tocchet as their new head coach.
- Tocchet becomes the 21st coach in franchise history.
- Adam Foote and Sergei Gonchar will be joining Tocchet’s coaching staff.
- Foote will be an Assistant Coach while Gonchar will be a Defensive Development Coach.

- Pittsburgh Penguins v. New Jersey Devils – 2p ET
- In New Jersey the Devils would play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in the first period Jack Hughes would open the scoring for the Devils, but Sidney Crosby would score for the Pens to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless second and third periods Dougie Hamilton would strike in overtime to give the Devils the 2-1 victory over the Penguins.

- Los Angeles Kings v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET
- In the Windy City, the Blackhawks welcome the Kings back to Chicago. In the first, Jaret Anderson-Dolan scores his fourth of the year to put Los Angeles up 1-0. In the second, Anderson-Dolan nets his second of the game to put the Kings up 2-0. In the third, Ian Mitchell scores his first of the year for Chicago but the Kings escape with the 2-1 win over the Blackhawks.

- San Jose Sharks v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
- In Beantown, the Bruins welcome the Sharks back to Boston. In the first, Hampus Lindholm scores his sixth of the year to give Boston the 1-0 lead. In the second, Charlie McAvoy scores his fourth of the year and then Nick Foligno scores his seventh to put the Bruins up 3-0. In the third, David Pastrnak’s 36th of the year on Boston power play gives the Bruins the 4-0 win over the Sharks.

- Winnipeg Jets v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET
- In Philadelphia, the Flyers welcome the Jets to Broad Street. In the first, Winnipeg gets a trio of goals when Axel Johnsson-Fjallby scores his fourth of the year, Kyle Connor scores his 24th of the year, and then Mark Scheifele strikes with his 29th. Then, the Flyers get on the board when Ivan Provorov scores his third of the year to make this a 3-1 Winnipeg lead. In the second, Kevin Hayes scores his 14th of the year to pring Philly within a goal. In the third, Kevin Hayes’ second of the goal ties the game for the Flyers but then Karson Kuhlman’s third of the year gives the Jets the 4-3 lead. Then, Kevin Stenlund’s third of the year lifts the Jets to the 5-3 win over the Flyers.

- Vegas Golden Knights v. Arizona Coyotes – 8p ET
- In Tempe, the Coyotes welcome the Golden Knights. In the first, Dylan Guenther’s sixth of the year gives Arizona the 1-0 lead. In the second, Clayton Keller’s 16th of the year gives the Coyotes the 2-0 lead but then Vegas gets on the board when Phil Kessel scores his eighth of the year. In the third, Clayton Keller scores a pair, completing the hat trick, to give the Coyotes the 4-1 win over the Golden Knights.
