2022-23 Preview
To say last season was a disaster for the Vegas Golden Knights would be a huge understatement. From injuries, to bad salary cap management, big acquisitions not panning out yet like Jack Eichel, attempting to play an injured goalie, you name it and Vegas went through it. The Golden Knights missed the playoffs for the first time in their young history and it resulted in a coaching change as Pete DeBoer was fired and former Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy now behind the bench in Sin City.
Coaching wasn’t the only change happening in Vegas. Max Pacioretty, Evegnii Dadonov, Dylan Coghlan, and Mattias Janmark were all dealt away to help improve their salary cap situation that they were dealing with in recent memory. One big addition did happen as they signed Phil Kessel to a one year contract. As far as the outlook for the team this year, unless Jack Eichel can fully return to form and everyone stays healthy, I see the Golden Knights missing the playoffs again.
