Colorado Avalanche v. St. Louis Blues
Game 3 – Series Tied 1-1
Game Recap:
With the series shifting to St. Louis, the Blues look to continue their momentum as they look to take the 2-1 series lead over the Colorado Avalanche. In the first period the Blues would start things off as Colton Parayko would blast one from the point to give the Blues the 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the game. Later in the period Josh Manson would go to the box to give the Blues the first powerplay of the game, but the Avs would be up to the task as they would kill off the penalty and then Logan O’Connor would strike to tie the game at one for the Avs.
In the second period the Avs would go shorthanded as Darren Helm would go off for holding, and for the second straight time the Avs would kill off the penalty and then hard work would pay off as Nazem Kadri would redirect a point blast from Cale Makar to give the Avalanche the 2-1 lead. Pavel Buchnevich would get called for interference, and then Jordan Kyrou and Nicolas Aube-Kubel would get coincidental minors. However, late in the period Artturi Lehkonen would score for the Avs to take the two goal lead, but Ryan O’Reilly would strike with 30 seconds left in the period to get the Blues back with one.
Then in the third period it would be rather quiet on the scoresheet, but late in the period the Blues would try to pull the goalie and the Blues would have a break down that would lead to a Gabriel Landeskog tally to give the Avs the 4-2 lead. Then in the final minute of the period Lehkonen would net his second of the game as he would pot the empty netter to give the Avalanche the 5-2 victory and the 2-1 series lead.
