Canes Win, Look to Close Out Bruins

Boston Bruins vs Carolina Hurricanes

Game 5- (CAR leads series 3-2)

Game Recap:

With the series tied at 2-2, both the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes are looking to pull ahead in the series with a chance to move onto the next round in this matchup tonight. It would be Carolina who would strike first and would strike twice within a span of about six minutes apart. Hurricanes goals came from Jacob Slavin who would fire a wrist shot blocker side for his goal, and Tony DeAngelo would fire a one timer on the power play as both would beat Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman to give their team a 2-0 advantage. That would be the score heading into the first intermission.

Seth Jarvis would add to the Canes lead in the second period as he would whack at the puck on the ice which would take a bizarre bounce off a Bruins defender and in to make it 3-0. That would be it for the scoring as we move onto the third period.

Period three saw Jarvis get his second goal of the game he tipped a shot down in front and then put in the rebound for a power play marker. About seven minutes later, we saw the Bruins finally get on the scoreboard as Connor Clifton added his first goal of the playoffs with the Bruins down by three. After that just like the first two periods, the Bruins couldn’t get much offense going and the Hurricanes added an empty netter from Vincent Trocheck to seal the victory for Carolina by a final score of 5-1. The Hurricanes look to eliminate the Bruins on Thursday night while they hope to stay alive and force a game 7.
