New Jersey Devils (16-26-5 37pts) @
Montreal Canadiens (8-30-7 23pts)
Game Recap:
As their losing streak continued last night with a loss in Ottawa, the New Jersey Devils look to finally put an end to it tonight against the Montreal Canadiens. Michael McLeod & Dawson Mercer put the Devils in a good spot as they gave the Devils a two goal lead at the beginning and midway points of the first period as they would take a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Montreal finally got on the board thanks to a Brett Kulak goal. After that goal, it was pure domination for the Devils the rest of the game. They would get goals from Nico Hischier, Jesper Boqvist, and another goal from Michael McLeod. New Jersey would carry a 5-1 lead heading into the third and final period.
Pavel Zacha & Tomas Tatar each scored in the third period to extend the lead to 7-1 and seal the victory by that final score. It felt like a long time to get here, but the losing streak is finally over at seven games. Next time we see the Devils in action is on Thursday night as they travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues.
