NHL Stars of the Week – Kadri Takes Top Honors

Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of January 24th through 30th.

First Star – Nazem Kadri (C – COL)

  • Kadri would record three goals and five assists for eight points in four games played for the Colorado Avalanche. Kadri would start off the week with the game winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Chicago on Jan. 24th, and then on Jan. 26th he would record three assists in a 4-3 victory over Boston. On Jan. 28th he would net another game winning goal, and also two assists, in a 6-4 victory over Chicago, and to close out the week Kadri would net the game winning goal in a 4-1 victory over Buffalo on Jan. 30th.

Second Star – Frederik Andersen (G – CAR)

  • Andersen would go a perfect 3-0-0 in three games played for the Carolina Hurricanes that would see him record a 1.91 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Andersen would open the week with 26 save performance in a 4-3 overtime victory over Vegas on Jan. 25th, and then on Jan. 27th he would make 37 saves in a 3-2 victory over Ottawa. To close ou the wee Andersen would make 27 saves in a 2-1 victory over San Jose on Jan. 30th.

Third Star – Johnny Gaudreau (LW – CAL)

  • Gaudreau would record two goals and a League leading six assists for eight points in four games played for the Calgary Flames. Gaudreau would open the week with a goal and three assists in a 7-1 victory over St. Louis on Jan. 24th, and then on Jan. 26th he would record three assists in a 6-0 victory over Columbus. He would be held off the scoresheet in St. Louis on Jan. 27th, but to close out the week Gaudreau would net the overtime game winner in a 1-0 victory over Vancouver on Jan. 29th.
