- For the lone game of the day the Washington Capitals would host the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period Alex Ovechkin would strike on the powerplay to give the Caps the 1-0 lead. In the second period Elias Pettersson would net a pair of goals and then Bo Horvat would strike to give the Canucks the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Tom Wilson would strike on the powerplay to get the Caps back within one, but JT Miller would score to give the Canucks the 4-2 victory.
