Welcome to the TXHT PHF Weekend Recap for the Weekend of Saturday, December 18th and Sunday, December 19th, 2021, plus news coming out of the weekend.
Saturday, December 18th, 2021
Game #1 – Boston Pride v. Metropolitan Riveters
- Postponed due to COVID-19
Game #2 – Connecticut Whale v. Buffalo Beauts
- In Buffalo the Beauts would host the Connecticut Whale for a weekend series, in the first period Amanda Conway would score to give the Whale the 1-0 lead. In the second period Emma Keenan would strike for the Beauts to tie the game at one. Then in the third period Kennedy Marchment would strike to take the one goal lead back for the Whale, and then Emily Fluke would get the empty netter to give the Wahle the 3-1 victory.

Game #3 – Toronto Six v. Minnesota Whitecaps
- In Minnesota the Whitecaps and Toronto Six would battle in a weekend series of their own, and in the first period Michela Cava would strike on the powerplay to give the Six the 1-0 lead. In the second period Emma Woods would strike on the powerplay to grow the Six’s lead to two. Then in the third period Tori Charron and Taylor Woods would score to give the Six the 4-0 victory over the Whitecaps.

Game #1 – Toronto Six v. Minnesota Whitecaps
- In Minnesota the Whitecaps would take on the Toronto Six for the second game of their weekend series, and all that would be need is the first twenty minutes of hockey to give us the winner. 41 seconds into the game Audra Morrison would strike to get the Whitecaps on the board first, but goals from Shiann Darkangelo and Mikyla Grant-Mentis would give the Six the 2-1 victory over the Whitecaps.

Game #2 – Connecticut Whale v. Buffalo Beauts
- In Buffalo the Connecticut Whale would look to end 2021 with another sweep, this time over the Beauts, and in the first period Janine Weber would score to give the Whale the 1-0 lead. In the second period Catherine Crawley would score to give the Whale the two goal lead. Then in the third period Dominique Kremer would score to get to the Beauts on the board, but a tally from Kennedy Marchment would give the Whale the 3-1 victory over the Beauts to complete the weekend series sweep.

News and Notes
- On Dec. 14th the PHF, along with the ECHL, announced that Allie Thunstrom (MIN) and Jillian Dempsey (BOS) will be participating in the 2022 ECHL All Star Classic.
- They will be joined by Loren Gabel and Sophia Shaver of the PWHPA.
- This marks the PHF’s first time participating in the ECHL All Star Classic.
- On Dec. 17th the PHF announced the captains fort eh 2022 PHF All Star Weekend.
- Shiann Darkangelo (TOR), Allie Thunstrom (MIN, and Jillian Dempsey (BOS) were named captains as selected by their peers.
Standings

3 Stars of the Week
First Star – Mikyla Grant-Mentis (TOR)
- In two games played Grant-Mentis would record a goal and three assists to guide the Toronto Six to a perfect 2-0 weekend over the Minnesota Whitecaps. On Saturday night she would record two assists in a 4-0 victory, and then on Sunday Grant-Mentis would score a goal and record another assist in a 2-1 victory.
Second Star – Elaine Chuli (TOR)
- Chuli would be a wall for the Six as she would give up only one goal all weekend. On Saturday Chuli would stop all 28 shots to record her second straight shutout, and then on Sunday she would stop 17 out of 18 shots faced in a 2-1 victory.
Third Star – Kennedy Marchment (CTW)
- Marchment would score two goals on the weekend for the Connecticut Whale as they would go 2-0 over the Buffalo Beauts. Marchment would score a goal in the Whale’s 3-1 win on Saturday, and then another goal in another 3-1 win on Sunday.
