News

  • Hockey Canada has announced that they have backed out of the 2021 Spengler Cup which is taking place in Davos, Switzerland.

  • The NHL announced that the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets have both been shut down through the holiday break.

  • The NHL announced Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin First Star of the Week
    • Vladimir Tarasenko (STL) and Nikolaj Ehlers (WIN) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.
  • NHL Stars of the Week – Larkin Flies High

  • The NHL announced the postponement of two more games for Tuesday as both the NJ/PIT and ARI/SEA games would be postponed.

  • The NHL and NHLPA announced that they have agreed that the League will go into the Holiday Break starting on Wednesday Dec. 22nd.
    • All games for Wednesday were previously postponed due to COVID-19.
    • The five remaining games on Thursday, Dec. 23rd will be postponed.
    • Wednesday, Dec. 22nd through Saturday, Dec. 25th will be days off for all purposes including travel.
    • Sunday, Dec. 26th Players will report back to their Clubs.

  • Minnesota Wild v. Dallas Stars – 830p ET
    • In Dallas the Stars would host the Minnesota Wild in the lone game of the night, and in the first period Joe Pavelski and Esa Lindell would strike early for the Stars to take the 2-0 lead, but Ryan Hartman would score to get the Wild back within one, and Kevin Fiala would score to tie the game at two. However, Tyler Seguin would score to retake the one goal lead for the Stars. In the second period Roope Hintz would would score on the powerplay to grow the Stars lead back to two, but Kirill Kaprizov would score to bring the Wild back within one. Then in the third period Fiala would score for the Wild, but goals from Jacob Peterson, Miro Heiskanen, and jamie Benn would give the Stars the 7-4 victory over the Wild.
