News

  • The Buffalo Sabres and Vegas Golden Knights have made a blockbuster trade.
    • The Golden Knights acquired forward Jack Eichel and a 2023 3rd Round Pick
    • The Sabres acquired forwards Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs along with a Top 10 protected 2022 1st Round Pick, and a 2023 2nd Round Pick.
  • Michael’s TXHT Report – The Saga Has Ended! Eichel Traded to Vegas

  • Marian Gaborik officially announced his retirement for the NHL.
    • Gaborik played 17 seasons with the Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings and Ottawa Senators from 2000 to 2018.
    • Gaborik would go on to record 407 goals and 408 assists for 815 points.
    • Gaborik also won the Stanley Cup in 2014 with the Kings.

  • The New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres would make a trade.
    • The Sabres would acquire defenseman Johnny Boychuck.
    • The Islanders will receive Future Considerations.

Game Recaps

  • Detroit Red Wings v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
    • In Boston we would have an Original Six matchup as the Bruins would host the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period Patrice Bergeron would strike on the powerplay to give the Bs the 1-0 lead. In the second period Bergeron would score two more goals to complete the hat trick, a natural one at that, to give the Bs the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Lucas Raymond would score for the Wings, but goals from Mike Reilly and Bergeron would give the Bruins the 5-1 victory.

  • Tampa Bay Lightning v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
    • In Toronto the Maple Leafs would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Pat Maroon would score to give the Bolts the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period John Tavares would score with 42 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at one and force overtime which would see William Nylander score on the powerplay to give the Leafs the 2-1 victory over Tampa.

  • New York Islanders v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
    • In Montreal the New York Islanders would come to town to face the Canadiens, and Brock Nelson would get the first period tally to give the Isles the 1-0 lead. In the second period Oliver Wahlstrom and Jean-Gabriel Pageau would score and Nelson would net a pair to complete his hat trick to give the Isles the dominating five goal lead. Theni n the third period Nick Suzuki and Tyler Toffoli would score for the Habs, but Nelson’s fourth of the game would give the Islanders the 6-2 victory over the the Canadiens.

  • Vegas Golden Knights v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
    • In Ottawa the SEnators and Vegas Golden Knights would do battle, and after a scoreless first period Vegas would get goals from William Carrier, Brett Howden, and Jonathan Marchessault to take the 3-0 lead, but Brady Tkachuk would score for teh Sens to cut their deficit to two. Then in the third period Alex Pietrangelo and Marchessault would score to give the Golden Knights the 5-1 victory over the Senators.

  • Washington Capitals v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET
    • In Florida the Panthers would take on the Washington Capitals, and in the first period Aleksander Barkov and Aaron Ekblad would both score to give the Panthers the 2-0 lead. In the second period Daniel Sprong would score for the Caps, but tallies from Brandon Montour and Barkov would give the Panthers the 4-1 lead. However, Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson would score to bring the Caps back within one. Then in the third period Connor McMichael would score his first career NHL goal to tie the game at four for the Caps, but in overtime Eetu Luostarinen would score to give the Panthers the 5-4 victory.

  • Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
    • In the Battle of Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Penguins would host the Philadelphia Flyers, and in the first period Brock McGinn would score his third of the season to give the Pens the 1-0 lead. In the second period Travis Konecny would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Flyers, but Jake Guentzel would score to retake the one goal lead for the Pens. Then in the third period Scott Laughton would score to tie the game at two for the Flyers, but it would be Kris Letang with the overtime winner as the Penguins would go on to win 3-2.

  • Dallas Stars v. Calgary Flames – 9p ET
    • In Calgary the Flames would host the Dallas Stars and in the first period Denis Gurianov would score to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. In the second, Milan Lucic scores to tie the game for Calgary and then Matthew Tkachuk gives the Flames the 2-1 lead. Dallas then ties the game when Blake Comeau scores his first of the season. In the third, Tyler Seguin gives the Stars the lead once again. Calgary then ties the game at 3-3 when Nikita Zadorov nets his first of the year. In the overtime session, Jamie Benn nets the game winner as the Stars down the Flames 4-3.

  • Buffalo Sabres v. Seattle Kraken – 10p ET
    • In the Emerald City, the Sabres look to get their first win in Seattle. In the first period, Morgan Geekie gets the Kraken on the board with his second goal of the season. In the second period, Buffalo ties the game when Tage Thompson gets his third goal of the season and then Buffalo takes the lead after a shorthanded goal by Kyle Okposo. Seattle ties the contest when Jordan Eberle nets his third of the season. In the third period, Eberle scores a pair of goals to secure his first hat trick of the season and the first hat trick in Seattle Kraken history. Jaden Schwartz secures the win for the Kraken as the defeat the Sabres 5-2.

  • St. Louis Blues v. San Jose Sharks – 1030p ET
    • In San Jose, the St. Louis looks to send the Sharks to some Blue times. In the first period, San Jose gets on the board first when Brent Burns scores his first goal of the season. St. Louis ties the game when Brandon Saad scores his second of the season. San Jose then retakes the lead when Logan Couture nets his fourth of the season. In the second period, Pavel Buchnevich nets his second to make it a 2-2 game. San Jose re-takes the lead again after Nick Merkley gets his first of the year. St. Louis ties it for the third time when Saad nets his second of the game. The Blues gets their first lead of the contest after James Neal scores his second of the season. In the third period, Robert Thomas scores late to secure the win as the Blues take down the Sharks 5-3.
