3 Questions:

How will Mikyla Grant-Mentis perform in her sophomore season?

There is a reason why MGM was a MVP of the then NWHL last season. In the six games she played, she scored an impressive 5 goals and added another 4 assists for 9 points on the year. In the 1 playoff game she played, she added another goal and a assist to her ledger. That’s just in 7 total games played last season. Now with a full 20 game season upcoming for her, the sky is the limit. She now also has a great assistant coach in Angela James to help guide her throughout the year. Goalies beware.

Will the secondary scoring continue for the Six?

I ask this because during the season in Lake Placid, there was an impressive 16 players that registered at least a point during the season. A few of the players are still there for year 2 with the Six; however, some of the depth scoring has departed. Also, there was a coaching change from last season to this season. It will be interesting to see how Mark Joslin deploys his team. Will the team hit the ice running, or will it take a couple of games and go through some growing pains, to gain their chemistry?

Where does Tera Hofmann fit in the goalie room?

It’s almost a certainty that Elaine Chuli will be the number 1 goalie for the Toronto Six. Considering last year, she posted a 1.61 GAA and a .936 Save Percentage with 1 shutout last year. So, who will take the reigns as backup? Well, Samantha Ridgewell was with the Six last season too, posting a 4.62 GAA and a .800 Save Percentage, while Tera Hofmann with the Riveters posted a 3.00 GAA and a .917 Save Percentage. A 20 game schedule upcoming this season; again, we know it will be Chuli who will get most of the work. How will the backup duties be split? Interesting decisions for Joslin and James to make.
