NHL Rookie of the Month – Mo Assists His Way to the Top

Today the National Hockey League has announced the Rookie of the Month for the month of October 2021.

Moritz Seider (D – DET)

  • Seider would lead all rookies with eight assists in nine games for the Detroit Red Wings. Seider would also average 22:26 of time on ice as he earned top rookie honors for the month of October.
  • Seider would record two assists in the Wings season opener against Tampa Bay, and would find the score sheet in seven of nine of the Wings games for the month of October. Seider would end the month with a five game point streak as he would earn an assist in all five games to close out the month.
    • Seider would edge out his Red Wings teammate Lucas Raymond (4g, 5a, 9p – 9gp), Nashville winger Tanner Jeannot (4g, 1a, 5p – 8gp), and Florida netminder Spencer Knight (2-0-1, 1.95 GAA, .929 SV%) for Rookie of the Month honors.
