Vegas Golden Knights @ Minnesota Wild
Game Recap:
With the series lead on the line, the Minnesota Wild host the Vegas Golden Knights at home in Minneapolis for game 3. The Wild got off to a nice start as Ryan Hartman opened up the scoring as he tipped in a pass in front of the net from Kirill Kaprizov to get the early 1-0 lead. Moments later, Joel Eriksson Ek would scoop up a loose puck and wrist it past Marc Andre Fleury to give the Wild a 2-0 lead. That score would stand heading into the second periods
In the second period, the Wild completely unraveled as Vegas scored three unanswered goals to get their first lead of the game. Mark Stone, Patrick Brown, and Riley Smith were the goal scorers the Golden Knights completely dominated and out worked the Wild as they had a 22-5 lead in shot that period. After two periods, the Golden Knights lead the Wild 3-2.
Minnesota was not able to get anything going offensively in the third period either as they gave up two late goals to seal the victory for Vegas. William Karlsson and Mark Stone (empty net, second goal of the game) each were the goal scorers. The Wild were only able to muster a total of four shots in the third period. Vegas won by a final score of 5-2 and lead the series 2-1 heading into game 5 on Saturday.
