Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of February 22nd through 28th.
First Stars – Andrei Vasilevskiy (G – TB) and Glenda M. Wright (Tampa General Hospital)
- Wright has been working for Tampa General Hospital for ten years. She oversees the daily completion of cleaning occupied rooms, and for the daily discharges. Wright generally sees over 800 rooms for cleaning, as well as hundred of discharges a day.
- Vasilevskiy would go a perfect 3-0-0 for the Lightning as he would post a 0.67 GAA and a .975 save percentage. Vasilevskiy would also record two shutouts to earn the top honors. On Feb. 22nd Vasilevskiy would turn aside 34 shots to get the 4-2 victory over Carolina, and then on Feb. 25th would record a 25 stop 3-0 victory over the Hurricanes. To end the week Vasilevskiy would stop 20 shots in a 5-0 victory over Dallas on Feb. 28th for his second straight shutout.
Second Star – Patrick Kane (RW – CHI)
- Kane would pace the League with three goals and five assists for eight points. On Feb. 23rd in a 6-5 shootout victory against Columbus Kane would record a goal and three assists for his 15th career four point game. Then on Feb. 25th he would score a goal in a 2-0 victory over Columbus and then on Feb. 28th against Detroit Kane would score his 400th career NHL goal and record two assists in a 7-2 victory.
Third Star – Mats Zuccarello (RW – MIN)
- Zuccarello would record two goals and six assists for eight points as well in four games played for the Wild. He would start the week with a goal and three assists for 4 points against the Sharks in a 6-2 win on Feb. 22nd. Then on Feb. 24th against Colorado he would record a goal and an assist in another 6-2 victory. On Feb. 26th Zuccarello would record an assist in a 3-1 win over the Kings, and then on Feb. 27 he would pick up another assist against the Kings in a 4-3 overtime victory.
