Game Recap:
After being completely being dominated by the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1, the Vancouver Canucks were able to rebound and put on a great performance. The Canucks got off to a quick start as Tyler Toffoli scored at the 1:29 mark to give the Canucks an early 1-0 lead. Captain Bo Horvat added a power play goal to give the Canucks a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Alex Tuch of the Golden Knights early in the second period cut the lead in half as he added his sixth goal of the playoffs. However, Vancouver was able to get their two goal lead back. Elias Pettersson added another highlight reel goal to his resume to give the Canucks a 3-1 lead heading into the third and final period.
Eighteen seconds into period three, Bo Horvat added his second goal of the game and his eighth of the playoffs for Vancouver. Vegas thought they had some hope left late as Max Pacioretty slapped a shot behind Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom to get the game within two goals. However, the Canucks were able to seal the victory as Tanner Pearson added an empty net goal as his team went on to win by a final score of 5-2. These two teams meet again on Thursday night for game three to see who can grab the series lead.
