  • In sad news, Hockey Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk has passed away after his long battle with cancer. Announced by his son Eric before the day’s games began, Dale played for the Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, and Philadelphia Flyers.

In Toronto the Flyers look to to take the 3-1 series lead over the Canadiens, and in the first period Michael Raffl would strike first for the Flyers to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Philippe Myers would score to grow the Flyers lead to two. Come the third period the Flyers would shut down the Canadiens as Carter Hart earns his second consecutive shutout to give the Flyers the 2-0 victory and the 3-1 series lead.

Calgary Flames v. Dallas Stars – 530p EST Start Time

Out west the Flames and Stars do battle to see who will take the 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6. In the first period Jamie Benn would strike shorthanded for the Stars to take the 1-0 land, but with 46 seconds left in the period Mikael Backlund would score to tie the game at one. Then in the third period John Klingberg would score 72 seconds into the period to give Dallas the 2-1 victory and the 3-2 series lead.

Washington Capitals v. New York Islanders – 8p EST Start Time

Back in Toronto the Capitals face elimination as the Islanders look to finish the sweep and move on to the Second Round. Early in the first period Jean-Gabriel Pageau would net his fourth of the playoffs to give the Islanders the 1-0 lead. Then moments later Mathew Barzal would score to grow the Islanders lead to two. Then in the second period the Capitals would come alive as Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin (PPG) would strike to tie the game at two. In the third period Ovechkin would net his second of the game to give the Capitals the 3-2 victory, and live to see another day as they force a Game 5.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Vegas Golden Knights – 1030p EST Start Time

For the final game of the day the Blackhawks look to continue holding off the Golden Knights from eliminating them. In the first period Jonathan Toews would strike midway through the period to give Chicago the 1-0 lead. then late int he first Alex DeBrincat would strike for the Blackhawks to grow their lead, but Max Pacioretty would score to get Vegas on the board. Then in the second period Patrick Kane would score for Chicago, but goals from Mark Stone and Alec Martinez (PPG) would tie the game at three. And in the third period and early goal from Alex Tuch would give the Knights the 4-3 victory and the 4-1 series victory.
