NHL News and Notes from Friday, December 6th, 2019

 

Game Recaps:

Chicago Blackhawks v. New Jersey Devils – 7p EST Start Time

In New Jersey the Devils take on the Chicago Blackhawks, and in the first period while on the powerplay Taylor Hall would score his fifth of the season to give the Devils the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Blackhawks would respond with a powerplay marker of their own as Alex DeBrincat would score his seventh of the season to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless overtime period the game would require a five round shootout, and Kirby Dach would score to give the Blackhawks the 2-1 victory. Scott’s Recap

 

Montreal Canadiens v. New York Rangers – 7p EST Start Time

At Madison Square Garden the Montreal Canadiens come to town to visit the New York Rangers, and in the first period Brendan Gallagher would strike first for the Canadiens to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Brendan Smith would score his third of the season to tie the game at one for the Rangers. However, late in the third period Nate Thompson would score his second of the season to give the Canadiens the 2-1 victory.

 

Arizona Coyotes v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time

Phil Kessel and the Arizona Coyotes come to Pittsburgh to face Kessel’s former team in the Penguins. After two scoreless periods it would be the Penguins striking first as Evgeni Malkin would score his seventh of the season and Brandon Tanev would score while shorthanded to give the Penguins the 2-0 victory.

 

Los Angeles Kings v. Edmonton Oilers – 9p EST Start Time

In Edmonton the Oilers would get the jump on the Los Angeles Kings as they would get powerplay goals from Leon Draisaitl and Alex Chiasson  to take the 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Then after a scoreless second period the Kings would finally get on the board with a Michael Amadio tally, but the Oilers would hold on to defeat the Kings 2-1.

 

Washington Capitals v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time

The Washington Capitals would sweep their California road trip with a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. TXHT Recap
