News:

  • The Boston Bruins unveiled their new third jerseys for the 2019-20 season. The new uniform will debut against the New York Rangers on Friday.

 

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alexander Kerfoot for two games for boarding Colorado defenseman Erik Johnson.

  • Per the CBA, Kerfoot forfeited $37,634.40 based on his average salary.

 

Game Recaps:

Buffalo Sabres v. Tampa Bay Lighting – 7p EST Start Time

The Tampa Bay Lightning would play host to the Buffalo Sabres, and 13 seconds into the game Nikita Kucherov to take the 1-0 lead. However, Sam Reinhart would strike shortly after to tie up the game at one. Then in the second period Jimmy Vesey would strike to give the Sabres the lead, but the Lightning would strike on the powerplay as Mikhail Sergachev would score to tie the game. Then Yanni Gourde would score to take the 3-2 lead for Tampa Bay. Then in the third period Cedric Paquette and Ondrej Palat would both strike while shorthanded to take the 5-2 victory.

 

Minnesota Wild v. New York Rangers – 7p EST Start Time

At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers play host to the Minnesota Wild. In the first period Brady Skjei would score the lone goal of the period to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Zach Parise would strike for the Wild to tie the game at one. In the third period Ryan Donato would strike for the Wild for the lead, but Chris Kreider would score on the powerplay to send the game to overtime. In overtime Tony DeAngelo would score to give the Rangers the 3-2 victory.

 

Vancouver Canucks v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p EST Start Time

In Philadelphia the Flyers would take on the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period it would be the Canucks getting on the board first as JT Miller would score his 10th of the season to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Sean Couturier would strike for the Flyers to tie the game. After a scoreless third period it would be Jakub Voracek making the winning tally as the Flyers take the 2-1 victory.

 

Calgary Flames v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time

In Pittsburgh the Penguins would look to extinguish the Calgary Flames. In the first period Dillon Dube would score his first goal of the season for the Flames, but Alex Galchenyuk would tie the game while on the powerplay. Then in the second period Jared McCann would give the Penguins the lead, but Sean Monahan would tie the game for the Flames while on the powerplay. Then after a scoreless third period, Jake Guentzel would strike in overtime to give the Penguins the 3-2 victory.

 

Ottawa Senators v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p EST Start Time

In Columbus we would see a tightly contested matchup between the Ottawa Senators and the Blue Jackets. After two scoreless periods it would be Oliver Bjorkstrand with his sixth of the season to give the Jackets the 1-0 victory.

 

St. Louis Blues v. Nashville Predators – 8p EST Start Time

In Nashville the Predators would require to defeat the St. Louis Blues. In the first period the Predators would strike with tallies from Nick Bonino and Ryan Johansen to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period David Perron would strike to get the Blues on the board, and then in the third period Brayden Schenn would score his 12th of the season to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime frame, Daniel Carr would score the game winner in the shootout to give the Predators the 3-2 victory.

 

Vegas Golden Knights v. Dallas Stars – 830p EST Start Time

In Dallas the Stars would take on the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period the Stars would strike first as Alexander Radulov (PPG) and Esa Lindell would strike for the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Shea Theodore would strike for the Knights, but Jason Dickinson would reclaim the two goal lead for the Stars. Then in the third period Paul Stastny would strike for the Knights, but Radulov would score his second of the game on the powerplay for the Stars to secure the 4-2 victory.

 

New York Islanders v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time

The Anaheim Ducks would play host to the New York Islander, and after a scoreless first period Ryan Getzlaf would score his ninth of the season to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead. then in the third period the Ducks would get goals from Cam Fowler and Ondrej Kase to secure the 3-0 victory.

 

San Jose Sharks v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p EST Start Time

In Los Angeles the Kings take on the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Erik Karlsson would score the first goal of the game for the Sharks to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Sharks would grow their lead to three with two goals from Timo Meier, but the Kings would finally get on the board with an Adrian Kempe tally. In the third period the Kings would get goals from Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar to tie the game and send it to overtime. However, the Sharks would get a goal from Patrick Marleau to end the Kings comeback bid as the Sharks took the 4-3 victory.
