Game Recaps:

Nashville Predators v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p EST Start Time

In Buffalo when the Sabres would honor the old Buffalo Auditorium, they would take on the Nashville Predators in a hard fought matchup. In the first period Matt Duchene would get the Predators on the board first with his 8th of the season 57 seconds into the game. However, the Sabres would respond with a Jimmy Vesey tally, but the Predators would take the 2-1 lead with a Colton Sissons tally. In the second period the Sabres would respond with back to back goals from Jack Eichel, but Ryan Johansen would tie the game at three late in the period. Then in the third period Victor Olofsson would score his 13th of the season to give the Sabres the 4-3 victory.

 

Boston Bruins v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p EST Start Time

In Tampa Bay the Boston Bruins would get the jump on the Lightning in the first period as Patrice Bergeron would score his 10th of the season to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Steven Stamkos would net his 12th of the season while on the powerplay to tie the game at one. Then in the third period John Moore would score his first of the season for the Bruins, but Brayden Point would score on the powerplay, and Stamko would net his second of the game to give the Lightning the 3-2 victory.

 

New York Islanders v. Florida Panthers – 7p EST Start Time

In Florida the New York Islanders would come to tame the Panthers. After a scoreless first period Mike Hoffman would get on the board for the Panthers, but Devon Toews (PPG) and Mathew Barzal (PPG) would both score to give the Islanders the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Anders Lee would strike for his ninth goal of the season to give the Islanders 3-1 victory.

 

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time

In Pittsburgh the Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets would play sixty minutes of scoreless hockey, and in overtime it would be Bryan Rusy on the powerplay to give the Penguins the 1-0 victory.

 

Winnipeg Jets v. Detroit Red Wings – 730p EST Start Time

In Detroit the Red Wings would finally end their 12 game winless (and 10 game losing streak) as they would defeat the Winnipeg Jets. In the first period the Wings would get goals from Darren Helm and Robby Fabbri (PPG) to take the 2-0 lead. then in the second period Fabbri would net his second of the game, and Filip Zadina would score his first of the season while on the powerplay to give the Wings a 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Filip Hronek would secure the 5-2 victory for the Wings with his seventh of the season. Kyle Connor would score both goals for Winnipeg.

 

Vegas Golden Knights v. St. Louis Blues – 8p EST Start Time

In St. Louis the Blues would strike first against the Vegas Golden Knights as MacKenzie MacEachern would score his fifth of the season, but the Knights would respond with goals from Max Pacioretty and William Carrier to take the 2-1 lead. However, in the second period Oskar Sundqvist, Jaden Schwartz, and Robert Thomas would all score to give the Blues the 4-2 victory.

 

Edmonton Oilers v. Minnesota Wild – 8p EST Start Time

In Minnesota the Edmonton Oilers and the Wild would have themselves a high scoring affair. In the first period Oscar Klfbom would strike for the Oilers, but Jordan Greenway and Jason Zucker would tally for the Wild. Then in the second period Leon Draisaitl would strike on the powerplay for the Oilers, but Marcus Foligno and Ryan Donato would strike for the Wild to take the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Gaetan Haas, Connor McDavid, and James Neal would all score for the Oilers, but Erick Staal and Luke Kunin would score to secure the 6-5 victory for the Wild.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Calgary Flames – 9p EST Start Time

In Calgary the Flames would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period both John Tavares and Travis Hamonic would trade goals as both teams would remain tied. Then in the second period Mitch Marner would score his fifth of the season to give the Leafs the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period the Flames would light up the Leafs as Johnny Gaudreau qould net a pair of goals and Michael Frolik would net his fourth of the season to give the Flames the 4-2 victory.

 

Chicago Blackhawks v. Arizona Coyotes – 9p EST Start Time

At home rocking the legendary Kachinas, the Arizona Coyotes would pounce on the Chicago Blackhawks with goals from Michael Grabner, Clayton Keller, and Brad Richardson to take the 3-0 lead. Then in the second period Jonathan Toews would score for the Blackhawks, but Nick Schmaltz would respond for the Coyotes with his sixth of the season. Then in the third period Clayton Keller would net his second of the game to give the Coyotes the 5-2 victory.

 

Carolina Hurricanes v. Vancouver Canucks – 10p EST Start Time

In Vancouver the Canucks would play host to the Carolina Hurricanes, and both teams would play 60 minutes of scoreless hockey, and would need overtime to decide a winner. For the Canucks though, they only needed 40 seconds of the extra frame as Elias Pettersson would net his 13th goal of the season to give the Canucks the 1-0 victory.

 

Los Angeles Kings v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time

In the battle of California neighbors, the Anaheim Ducks would host the Los Angeles Kings, and in the first period it would be Matt Luff scoring his first career goal to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jeff Carter would score his ninth goal of the season while on the powerplay to grow the Kings lead to two. However, in the third period Derek Grant would net his ninth of the season while on the powerplay for the Ducks, but it would not be enough as the Kings would hold on to win 2-1.

 

New York Rangers v. San Jose Sharks – 1030p EST Start Time

In San Jose after firing their head coach the night before, the Sharks would play host to the New York Rangers. In the first period the Sharks would strike first as Tomas Hertl would score his 11th of the season while shorthanded. In the second period the Rangers would get on the board with goals from Jesper Fast and Artemi Panarin to take a 2-1 lead, but Logan Couture would tie the game at two for the Sharks before the end of the period. Then in the third period Brenden Dillon would net his first of the season for the Sharks, but Mika Zibanejad would net a pair of goals (PPG and EVS), and Panarin would score two more goals to complete the hat trick and give the Rangers the 6-3 victory.

  • The Dallas Stars announced that they have dismissed Jim Montgomery as Head Coach, and have named Rick Bowness the interim head coach.
    • Per General Manager Jim Nill the decision to relieve Montgomery of his duties were due to “unprofessional Conduct inconsistent with the core values and beliefs of the Dallas Stars and the National Hockey League.”

In the battle of Florida the Panthers would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the first period Steven Stamkos would score his 11th of the season to give Tampa the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Alex Killorn would tally his ninth of the season to grow Tampa’s lead to two. In the third period the Panthers would finally get on the board as Evgenii Dadonov would score his 12th of the season, but it would not be enough as the Lightning would hold on to win 2-1.

 

Montreal Canadiens v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time

The Pittsburgh Penguins would play host to the Montreal Canadiens, and after the Penguins would take the 1-0 lead off of a Jake Guentzel tally in the first period, the second period would not be so kind. The Canadiens would get goals from Tomas Tatar (PPG), Joel Armia, and Shea Weber to take the 3-1 lead into the second intermission. Then in the third period Brendan Gallagher would score his 14th of the season to secure the 4-1 victory for the Canadiens.

 

St. Louis Blues v. Buffalo Sabres – 730p EST Start Time

The Buffalo Sabres would play host to the St. Louis Blues, and in the first period the Sabres would get a quick start as Sam Reinhart would score his 12th of the season 18 seconds into the game, but Tony Brouwer would score his first of the season to tie the game at one. Then in the second period Johan Larsson would tally his fourth of the season to give the Sabres the lead back. In the third period Alex Pietrangelo would net his seventh of the season to tie the game at two, but less than two minutes later Jack Eichel would keep his point streak alive with his 19th goal of the season to regain the lead for the Sabres, and then Zemgus Girgensons would net his fifth of the season, and Eichel would net his second of the game to secure the Sabres the 5-2 victory.

 

San Jose Sharks v. Nashville Predators – 8p EST Start Time

After a scoreless forty minutes, things would heat up in Nashville between the Predators and the San Jose Sharks. In the third period the Sharks would get a goal from Timo Meier, but the Predators would get powerplay goals from Nick Bonino and Ryan Johansen, and Calle Jarnkrok would score his 11th of the season to secure the 3-1 victory for the Predators.

 

Anaheim Ducks v. Minnesota Wild – 8p EST Start Time

In Minnesota the Anaheim Ducks would get the jump on the Wild in the first period with tallies from Rickard Rakell and Cam Fowler (PPG) to take the 2-0 lead. However, in the second period Ryan Hartman would net his fourth of the season, and in the third period Ryan Donato would net his fifth of the season to tie the game at two for the Wild, and force the game into overtime. However, in the shootout the Ducks would dash the Wild’s hopes of the comeback victory as Max Comtois would secure the 3-2 victory for the Ducks.

 

Detroit Red Wings v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p EST Start Time

In Winnipeg the Jets would fly high over the Detroit Red Wings. In the first period Adam Lowry would score while shorthanded to get the 1-0 lead for the Jets. Then in the second period Christoffer Ehn would score his first of the season to tie the game at one, but then the Jets would take over as Blake Wheeler, Andrew Copp, and Patrik Laine would all score to give the Jets the 4-1 lead. In the third period Mark Scheifele would seal the deal with a powerplay marker as the Jets would defeat the Wings 5-1.

 

New Jersey Devils v. Dallas Stars – 830p EST Start Time

After firing Jim Montgomery earlier in the morning (see above in News), the Dallas Stars would play host to the New Jersey Devils, and the first period would that the Stars would need as Radek Faksa and Joe Pavelski would score the only goals that the Stars would need as they would defeat the Devils 2-0.

 

Carolina Hurricanes v. Edmonton Oilers – 9p EST Start Time

In Edmonton the Carolina Hurricanes would come to town to surge over the Oilers, and surge they would in the first period as Sebastian Aho would get the Hurricanes on the board first with his 17th of the season. Then both Nino Niederreiter and Ryan Dzingel would strike on the powerplay to take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission. In the second period the Oilers would begin to mount their comeback with a Zack Kassian tally. Then in the third period Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (PPG) and Kassian (second of the game) would strike to tie the game at three, but Jordan Martinook would score his second of the season to regain the lead for the Hurricanes. Then Sebastian Aho would score his second of the game while on the powerplay, and Dougie Hamilton would score his 11th of the season to give the Hurricanes the 6-3 victory.

 

Calgary Flames v. Arizona Coyotes – 9p EST Start Time

In Arizona the Calgary Flames would heat up the desert as they would take it to the Coyotes. In the first period Michael Frolik and Johnny Gaudreau would strike for the Flames to take the two goal lead. Then in the second period Zac Rinaldo and Sean Monahan would grow the Flames lead to four before Jokob Chychrun would strike to cut the Flames lead to three. In the third period Milan Lucic would score on the powerplay to give the Flames their four goal lead back, but Phil Kessel would get a powerplay tally himself for the Coyotes, but it would not be enough as the Flames would win 5-2.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Vancouver Canucks – 10p EST Start Time

After a scoreless first period in Vancouver, the Toronto Maple Leafs would strike first as Auston Matthews and John Tavares both would strike against the Conucks as the Leafs would take the 2-0 lead into the third period. I the third Josh Leivo would get the Canucks on the board, buth Tavares would score his second of the game, and Zach Hyman would score his sixth of the season to give the Leafs the 4-1 victory.

 

Chicago Blackhawks v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p EST Start Time

In Vegas the Golden Knights would play host to the Chicago Blackhawks and after a scoreless first period the Knights would light the lamp three times in the second period. Reilly Smith would kick things off with a powerplay tally to break the scoreless tie, then Deryk Engelland would net his first of the season and William Karlsson would strike while shorthanded to give the Knights the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Max Pacioretty and Ryan Reaves would score to grow their lead to five, but Dominik Kubalik would score late in the third while on the powerplay to end the Knights shutout bid. However, The Golden Knights would still cruise to the 5-1 victory.

 

New York Rangers v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p EST Start Time

The Los Angeles Kings would play host to the New York Rangers, and in the first period Dustin Brown would score his seventh of the season to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. In the second period Tyler Toffoli would net his seventh of the season to give the Kings the 2-0 lead, and then in the third period Artemi Panarin would net his 15th of the season while on the powerplay to cut the Kings lead back to one, but Adrian Kempe would score to secure the 3-1 victory for the Kings.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk has been fined the maximum allowable under the CBA of $2486.56 for cross checking Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton.

In Philadelphia for an afternoon matinee the Flyers would play host to the Ottawa Senators. In the first period the Flyers would strike first as Travis Konecny would score his 11th of the season to take the 1-0 lead, but Brady Tkachuk would net his 10th to tie the game at one only for the Flyers to strike back with a Shayne Gostisbehere tally to take the 2-1 lead into the intermission. Then in the second period Anthony Duclair would score a shorthanded tally for the Senators to tie the game at two, but then in the third period Ivan Provorov would score for the Flyers retake the lead. Duclair would score his second of the game to re-tie the game up, but 11 seconds later Scott Laughton would strike to secure the Flyers the 4-3 victory.

 

Buffalo Sabres v. Vancouver Canucks – 4p EST Start Time

In Vancouver the Canucks continue to honor their history by rocking the retro V jerseys for pregame warmups, then would take on the Buffalo Sabres while sporting the gorgeous Black Skate jerseys. In the first period the Canucks would take the 1-0 lead with a Josh Leivo tally. Then in the second period Antoine Roussel would strike and Leivo would score his second of the game for the Canucks, but the Sabres would get goals from Kyle Okposo, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Victor Olofsson (PPG) to tie the game at three. In the third period Tyler Myers would net his first as a Canuck while shorthanded, and Roussel would net his second of the game for the 5-3 lead. However, Zemgus Girgensons would get the Sabres back on the board with his fourth of the season, and Marcus Johansson would score his fifth of the season to tie the game at five and send it to overtime. In overtime it would be JT Miller securing the victory for the Canucks with his 13th of the season as the Canucks would down the Sabres 6-5.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs v. St. Louis Blues – 7p EST Start Time

In St. Louis the Toronto Maple Leafs would explode for a four goal first period as Zach Hyman (EVS and SHG), Auston Matthews, and Jason Spezza (PPG) would all score for the Leafs, but Ivan Barbashev would score for the Blues as the Leafs took the 4-1 lead into the first intermission. Then in the second period Matthews would score his second of the game while on the powerplay, and in the third period David Perron would score for the Blues, but it would not be enough as the Leafs would win 5-2.

 

Colorado Avalanche v. Boston Bruins – 7p EST Start Time

In Boston the Bruins would play host to the Colorado Avalanche and in the first period Chris Wagner would get the Bruins on the board first, but Valeri Nichushkin would tie the game at one. Then in the second period Ian Cole and Andre Burakovsky would both score to give the Avalanche the two goal lead, and in the third period Gabriel Landeskog would score his fifth of the season to give the Avalanche the 4-1 victory.

 

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p EST Start Time

The Pittsburgh Penguins head to Detroit to face off with the Red Wings. In the first period the Penguins would get goals from Jake Guentzel and Chad Ruhwedel to take a 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Robby Fabbri would strike on the powerplay for the Wings, but Evgeni Malkin would score to regain the two goal lead for the Penguins. Then in the third period Filip Hronek and Dylan Larkin (PPG) would score for the Wings, but Dominik Kahun and John Marino (PPG) to give the Penguins the 5-3 victory.

In the third period Marc-Edouard Vlasic would score for the Sharks, but Victor Hedman, Tyler Johnson (second of the game), Stamkos (second of the game, PPG), and Carter Verhaeghe (first career NHL goal) to secure the 7-1 victory.

The Florida Panthers would play host to Sergei Bobrovsky’s former team, the Columbus Blue Jackets for a Saturday night matchup. In the first period Evgenii Dadonov would score his 11th of the season for the Panthers followed by a second period tally for Josh Brown to grow the Panthers lead to two. Then in the third period Vladislav Gavrikov would get on the Jackets on the board, but Brett Connolly (PPG) and Mike Hoffman would both strike to secure the 4-1 victory for the Panthers.

 

Minnesota Wild v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p EST Start Time

In Carolina the Hurricanes would use the Force to take on the Minnesota Wild. In the first period the Wild would get on the board with a Ryan Donato tally, but the Hurricanes would respond with goals from Linus Wallmark and Andrei Svechnikov (PPG) to take the 2-1 lead into the intermission. Then in the second period Mats Zuccarello would get on the board for the Wild, but Sebastian Aho would score back to back goals to grow the Hurricanes lead to 4-2. In the third period Joel Edmundson would score and Sebastian Aho would cap off the hat trick as the Hurricanes would go on to win 6-2.

Then in the second period Zac Rinaldo would score his first of the season to tie the game at two, and Sean Monahan would net his eighth of the season to give the Flames the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Dillon Dube would grow the Flames lead to two, but Matt Roy would bring the Kings back within one with his third of the season. However, the Flames would hold on to win 4-3.

News:

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Nashville Predators forward Ryan Johansen has been fined the maximum allowable under the CBA of $5000 for elbowing Tampa Bay Lighting forward Brayden Point on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd.

 

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety has fined San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane $5000, the maximum allowed under the CBA, for elbowing Washington Capitals defenseman Radko Gudas in the head on Tuesday night.

 

  • The Winnipeg Jets claimed forward Nick Shore from the Toronto Maple Leafs, and announced that they have placed defenseman Dmitry Kulikov on injured reserve.

In Toronto the Maple Leafs play host to Nazem Kadri and his new team the Colorado Avalanche. After a scoreless first period Nathan MacKinnon would score the first goal of the game while on the powerplay for the Avalanche, but the Leafs would respond with a Zach Hyman tally to tie the game at one. Then in the third period Valeri Nichushkin would strike while shorthanded and Joonas Donskoi would score late to seal the deal as the Avalanche defeated the Maple Leafs 3-1.

Then in the third period Alex Galchenyuk would score for the Penguins to secure the 3-0 victory over the Blues.

In Edmonton the Oilers would dominate the Ottawa Senators in the first period as they would through the first 20 minutes of the game out shoot the Senators 10-4, and Jujhar Khaira would strike to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Senators offense would wake up as Artem Anisimov (PPG), Connor Brown, and Tyler Ennis would strike to take the 3-1 lead, but Oscar Klefbom would score late on the powerplay to cut the Senators lead to one. Then in the third period the Senators would grow their lead back to two as Anthony Duclair would score his 11th of the season, and Vladislav Namestnikov would score to help secure the 5-2 victory for the Senators.

 

Washington Capitals v. Los Angeles Kings – 10p EST Start Time

In Los Angeles the Washington Capitals would continue their West Coast trip against the Kings, and it would be John Carlson ripping one past Jonathan Quick in the first five minutes of the game to take the 1-0 lead for the Capitals. However, Carlson would not be done as he would score from behind the blue line for his second of the game as the Capitals took the 2-0 lead in the first period. Then after a scoreless second period the Kings would finally get on the board as Blake Lizotte would net his third of the season, but Tom Wilson would score into the empty net to secure the 3-1 victory for the Capitals.

  • The Vancouver Canucks have granted goaltender Jacob Markstrom a leave of abscence to attend his father’s funeral.

 

  • The Washington Capitals have traded Chandler Stephenson to the Vegas Golden Knights for a 2021 Fifth Round Draft Pick.

In Nashville the Predators would require to defeat the St. Louis Blues. In the first period the Predators would strike with tallies from Nick Bonino and Ryan Johansen to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period David Perron would strike to get the Blues on the board, and then in the third period Brayden Schenn would score his 12th of the season to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime frame, Daniel Carr would score the game winner in the shootout to give the Predators the 3-2 victory.

In Dallas the Stars would take on the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period the Stars would strike first as Alexander Radulov (PPG) and Esa Lindell would strike for the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Shea Theodore would strike for the Knights, but Jason Dickinson would reclaim the two goal lead for the Stars. Then in the third period Paul Stastny would strike for the Knights, but Radulov would score his second of the game on the powerplay for the Stars to secure the 4-2 victory.

The Anaheim Ducks would play host to the New York Islander, and after a scoreless first period Ryan Getzlaf would score his ninth of the season to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead. then in the third period the Ducks would get goals from Cam Fowler and Ondrej Kase to secure the 3-0 victory.

 

San Jose Sharks v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p EST Start Time

In Los Angeles the Kings take on the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Erik Karlsson would score the first goal of the game for the Sharks to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Sharks would grow their lead to three with two goals from Timo Meier, but the Kings would finally get on the board with an Adrian Kempe tally. In the third period the Kings would get goals from Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar to tie the game and send it to overtime. However, the Sharks would get a goal from Patrick Marleau to end the Kings comeback bid as the Sharks took the 4-3 victory.

In Philadelphia the Flyers look to cool the Calgary Flames, and after a scoreless first period the Flyers would strike in the second period with a Jakub Voracek tally to take the 1-0 lead. then in the third period Andrew Mangiapane would tie the game at one for the Flames, however, Kevin Hayes would strike late in the third period to retake the lead for the Flyers. But the Flames would not stay down as Elias Lindholm would strike for his 11th of the season to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, it would be Matthew Tkachuk scoring the lone goal of the shootout to secure the 3-2 victory.

 

Arizona Coyotes v. Los Angeles Kings – 4p EST Start Time

In Los Angeles the Arizona Coyotes look to topple the Kings, and in the first period while on the powerplay Phil Kessel would strike to give the Coyotes the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Anze Kopitar would strike on the powerplay for the Kings to tie the game at one, but Lawson Crouse would retake the lead for the Coyotes with his fifth of the season. Then in the third period Christian Fischer would score for the Coyotes to take the 3-1 lead, but Nikolai Prokhorkin would score for the Kings, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Coyotes would take the 3-2 victory.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Colorado Avalanche – 7p EST Start Time

In Colorado the Toronto Maple Leafs would explode for four goals against the Avalanche after Nathan MacKinnon would score 31 seconds into the game to take the lead, but the Leafs would get their goals from Nick Shore, Auston Matthews, Tyson Barrie (PPG), Kasperi Kapenen to take the 4-1 lead. Then in the second period the Avalanche would chip away at the deficit with an Andre Burakovsky powerplay goal, and then in the third period the Avalanche would get a goal from Valeri Nichushkin to cut the deficit to one. However, The Leafs would get a goal from Zach Hyman with one second left in the game to take the 5-3 victory.

 

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Winnipeg Jets – 7p EST Start Time

In Winnipeg the Jets would face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a tightly contested matchup. In the first period the Jackets would strike first with a Pierre-Luc Dubois powerplay goal, but Blake Wheeler would strike to tie the game at one. Then in the second period Seth Jones (PPG) and Gustav Nyquist (PPG) would both strike for the Jackets, but Nikolaj Ehlers and Mathieu Perreault would keep the game tied up as they enter the second intermission. Then in the third period with less than two minutes left in regulation Andrew Copp would strike to give the Jets the 4-3 victory.

 

Minnesota Wild v. Boston Bruins – 7p EST Start Time

In Boston the Bruins would play host to the Minnesota Wild, and in the first period it would be the first to strike with a Jason Zucker powerplay goal. Then in the second period Victor Rask and Eric Staal (PPG) would score for the Wild, but Jake DeBrusk and Brad Marchand would score for the Bruins. Then in the third period Kevin Fiala would grow the Wild’s lead back to two, but the Bruins would comeback with two goals from David Krejci (EVS and PPG) to tie the game up at four and send the game to overtime. In overtime Torey Krug would score to complete the comeback as the Bruins downed the Wild 5-4.

 

New York Rangers v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p EST Start Time

In Montreal the Canadiens would blow one against the New York Rangers. In the first period the Canadiens would get two goals from Max Domi and a goal from Artturi Lehkonen to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Then in the second period Shea Weber would strike to grow the lead to four, but the Rangers would start to mount the comeback as Filip Chytil, Pavel Buchnevich, and Brendan Lemieux would all strike to cut the Canadiens lead to one. Then in the third period Lehkonen would get his second of the game to give the Canadiens the two goal lead, but Artemi Panarin, Lemieux’s second of the game while shorthanded, and a Jacob Trouba tally would complete the comeback as the Rangers would defeat the Canadiens 6-5.

 

Anaheim Ducks v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p EST Start Time

The Tampa Bay Lightning played host to the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period Brayden Point would get the Lightning on the board first, but then while shorthanded Derek Grant would score for the Ducks to tie the game at one. Then in the second period Rickard Rakell would score for the Ducks, but the Lightning would get goals from Nikita Kucherov, a powerplay tally from Point for his second of the game, and from Pat Maroon to take a 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Anthony Cirelli (PPG) and Ondrej Palat (PPG) would score to give the Lightning the 6-2 victory.

Then after a scoreless second period Alex Pietrangelo would strike on the powerplay for the Blues, but Calle Jarnkrok would secure the victory with the 4-2 win.

 

Chicago Blackhawks v. Dallas Stars – 8p EST Start Time

In Dallas the Stars and Chicago Blackhawks would need the shootout to settle things. In the first period both teams would trade goals as Roope Hintz would strike for the Stars, and Olli Maatta would score for the Blackhawks. Then after two scoreless periods and a scoreless overtime it would be goals from Joe Pavelski and Tyler Seguin in the shootout to secure the 2-1 win for the Stars.

In Vegas the Golden Knights would spring a leak as the Edmonton Oilers came to town. In the first period Connor McDavid and Ethan Bear would score for the Oilers, but Cody Eakin would strike late in the period to trail by one. Then in the second period Markus Granlund would strike to give the Oilers their two goal lead back. However, shea Theodore would strike for the Knights to cut the deficit to one. Then in the third period the Oilers would get their two goal lead as McDavid would score his second of the game while on the powerplay, and secure the 4-2 victory for the Oilers.
