Carolina Hurricanes v. Vegas Golden Knights – 8p ET – Stanley Cup Final Game 3

  • With the series moving to Vegas for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Golden Knights look to bounce back and retake the series lead, but the Carolina Hurricanes look to keep riding that high as they come to town, and after a scoreless first period, the Knights would have two goals waived off due to coach’s challenges, but then on the powerplay Tomas Hertl would score to finally give the Knights the 1-0 lead and then Mitch Marner would score three straight for the natural hat trick to give the Knights the commanding 4-0 lead. Then in the third period, Brandon Bussi would relieve Frederik Andersen between the pipes for Carolina, and would make some big saves, including a penalty shot attempt by Marner, as Jordan Martinook, Taylor Hall, and Jordan Staal would score in 39 seconds to get the Hurricanes back within one. Late in the period while on the powerplay, Andrei Svechnikov would score to tie the game at 4 and send the game to overtime for the Hurricanes. In the second extra frame, Shea Theodore would score to give the Golden Knights the 5-4 double overtime victory over the Hurricanes to take the 2-1 series lead.
