- The IIHF announced that Russia’s ban on international play for the 2026-27 has been annulled. The IIHF council will determine Russia’s eligibility on future competitions on an event-by-event basis.

Montreal Canadiens v. Carolina Hurricanes – 8p ET – Game 5
- In Carolina, the Hurricanes look to close out the series and head to their first Stanley Cup Final in 20 years with a win over the Canadiens. In the first, Taylor Hall scores his fifth to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead and then Logan Stankoven nets his ninth to put Carolina up 2-0. Then, Eric Robinson scored his third as the Canes took the 3-0 lead. In the second, Jackson Blake scored his fifth to put Carolina up 4-0 and then Shayne Gostisbehere netted his second with a power play goal to give the Hurricanes the 5-0 lead. In the third, Montreal got on the board when Cole Caufield scored his sixth with a power play goal but then Seth Jarvis netted his third with a power play goal to give the Hurricanes the 6-1 victory over the Canadiens and 4-1 series victory to advance to the Stanley Cup final to take on the Vegas Golden Knights.
