- In the PWHL, the Detroit franchise announced that Josh Sciba will be their first head coach. Sciba had previously been an assistant coach for the New York Sirens and was one of the assistants for the 2026 United States Women’s Hockey team in the Olympics.
- Also in the PWHL, the Intact Impact Award for the month of May would go to Toronto Sceptres F Emma Woods.
- It was announced that Claude Lemieux has passed away at the age of 60. Lemieux was drafted in the second round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut later on that season. Lemieux played five seasons with the New Jersey Devils, where he would be a part of the 1995 Stanley Cup winning team and be awarded the Conn Smythe. The following season, Lemieux would be a Stanley Cup champion again, this time with the Colorado Avalanche in their inaugural season. Lemieux would be on two more Stanley Cup winning franchises before retiring during the 2008-09 season.

- The Stanley Cup will begin on Tuesday, June 2 OR Thursday, June 4, depending on the outcome of Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final.
