Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of January 2nd through 8th.
First Star – David Pastrnak (RW – BOS)
- David Pastrnak would lead the NHL in goals with seven as he would also record an assist for a League leading eight points in four games played for the Boston Bruins. To open up the week Pastrnak would be held scoreless at the Winter Classic on Jan. 2nd, but he would record two goals in a 5-2 victory over Los Angeles on Jan. 5th. Then on Jan. 7th against San Jose he would record two goals in a 4-2 victory, and to close out the week Pastrnak would record a hat trick and an assist in a 7-1 victory over Anaheim on Jan. 8th.

Second Star – Jack Hughes (C – NJ)
- Jack Hughes would record five goals and two assists for seven points in three games played for the New Jersey Devils. To open up the week Hughes would record a goal and an assist in a 5-1 victory over Detroit on Jan. 4th, and then on Jan. 5th he would score two goals in a 5-3 loss to St. Louis. Then on Jan. 7th Hughes would record two goals and an assist in 4-3 overtime victory over the New York Rangers to close out the week.

Third Star – Rasmus Dahlin (D – BUF)
- Rasmus Dahlin would record two goals and four assists for six points in two games played for the Buffalo Sabres. To open up the week Dahlin would record an assist in a 4-3 overtime victory over Washington on Jan. 3rd. Then on Jan. 7th he would record two goals and three assists in a 6-5 overtime victory over Minnesota.
