    • Salming arrived in the NHL in 1973 and would shatter the perception and stereotypes about European players.
    • Salming owns franchise records of goals (148), assists (620, and points (768) for Maple Leafs defensemen.
    • Salming became the first European trained player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996.
