2022-23 Preview

The Vancouver Canucks enter the season with feelings of hope that they are headed in the right direction. Bruce Boudreau enters the season as bench boss and despite not being able to check off every box, the Canucks look to be in a better view than last season.

The defence took a bit of hit, however the speed and penalty kill has been improved on the offencive side of the puck. The biggest flaw with Vancouver has been getting the puck out of their own zone and there is hope that with the moves that were made in the offseason will fix those issues. The question I have is will all of the young talent that the Canucks have be enough to carry the team to their second playoff appearance in the last eight seasons? This writer certainly hopes so because with stars in Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes, Vancouver does need to have that postseason experience to potentially get the Canucks back to a place they haven’t been to since 2011, the Stanley Cup Final.
