- The Buffalo Sabres announced that they will be retiring Ryan Miller’s #30 during the 2022-23 season.
- Miller spent 12 seasons with the Sabres, and is the franchise leader in Games Played, Wins, and Saves.
- The Buffalo Sabres and Dallas Stars would make a trade.
- The Sabres acquired goaltender Ben Bishop and a 2022 7th Rd Pick.
- The Stars acquired Future Considerations
- It should be noted that Bishop announced that he would no longer be playing due to injury this past season, and that this trade was done to facilitate the Sabres to get to the Salary Cap floor for next season.
