Tampa Bay Lightning @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Game Recap:
Postseason hockey continues as the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs continue their best of seven series tonight in Toronto for Game 2. The Lightning are looking to even up the series at two a piece. Both teams traded some chances but, it was a relatively quiet period until the very end of it. Victor Hedman got the Lightning on the scoreboard with seconds to spare as he grabbed the puck in the crease and put it into the back of the net for a late power play goal. After the first period, the Tampa Bay Lightning would lead the Toronto Maple Leafs 1-0.
Corey Perry was able to extend the lead to two early on in the second period as he was sprung in on a breakaway and snapped a shot into the twine. At the 7:47 mark, Michael Bunting got Toronto back within one as he received a pass off of a created turnover by the Leafs and burried to get his team within one goal. However, a few minutes later, Nikita Kucherov gave the Lightning their two goal lead back as he scored a power play goal to make it 3-1 in favor of Tampa Bay going into the third period.
Trade deadline acquisition Brandon Hagel scored his first playoff goal to extend Tampa’s lead to 4-1. Then Brayden Point joined the scoring party as he added a power play goal to give Tampa a four goal lead. However, things did get interesting on the scoreboard as the Maple Leafs were able to get a couple third period goals from Mitch Marner and a shorthanded goal from Alex Kerfoot to get within two goals. Toronto pulled their goalie with a late power play with hopes of storming all the way back to tie but, were unsuccessful as the Tampa Bay Lightning got the job done and held on to win by a final score of 5-3. Next time we see these two teams will be on Friday night as the series shifts to Tampa Bay for Game 3.
