- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that Florida Panthers forward Ryan Lomberg has been suspended.
- Lomberg has been suspended for one game for instigating in the final five minutes of regulation (Rule 46.21).
- Panthers head coach Andrew Brunette was also fined $10,000.
- Lomberg will forfeit $3,625 in salary, and both the suspension to Lomberg and the fine to Burnette are automatic per Rule 46.21.
- The NHL announced Tampa Bay Lighting forward Steven Stamkos as the First Star of the Week.
- Kevin Fiala (MIN) and Jonathan Quick (LA) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.
- NHL Stars of the Week – Stamkos Dazzles for Top Honors
- The Profession Hockey Writer’s Association announced the finalists for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
- Notable nominees are Carey Price (MON), Kevin Hayes (PHI), Jack Eichel (VGK), and Brian Boyle (PIT).
- Nicklas Backstrom is the nominee from the Washington Capitals.

Philadelphia gets on the board after Kevin Hayes nets his 10th of the year. In the third, Alex DeBrincat scores his 41st of the year to give the Blackhawks the 3-1 win over the Flyers.
