The Washington Capitals are headed back outdoors as the NHL announced today that the Carolina Hurricanes will host the Caps at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, February 18th, 2023.
This game marks the fourth time the Capitals will play in an outdoor game, and second time playing in a Stadium Series event. The Caps are currently 3-0-0 in the outdoors as they defeated the Penguins (3-1) in Pittsburgh at Heinz Field in 2011, the Chicago Blackhawks (3-2) at Nationals Park in 2015, and at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium against the Toronto Maple Leafs (5-2) in 2018.
The 2023 Stadium Series will be the Carolina Hurricanes first ever outdoor game in franchise history.
