It was another tough week for the Seattle Kraken as they lost all three games this week with a 0-2-1 record taking on the Vancouver Canucks on the road, and losing both games at home against the NY Islanders and Boston Bruins. Seattle did pick up a standings point as they lost in overtime against the Bruins. Despite it being another tough week, let’s take a look back on the week that was and what’s ahead:
Loss in Vancouver @ the Canucks (2/21/22)
Stinker @ home v.s the NY Islanders (2/22/22)
OT defeat vs the Boston Bruins
How’s it Kraken? My thoughts on the week
Plain and simple, it was not another good week for the Seattle Kraken. Vancouver early on in this young rivalry has the number of the Kraken. It’s not surprising as the Canucks have more firepower upfront and can clearly score a lot better then Seattle does. It was nice that they did pick up a point against the Bruins However, the game I expected them to win didn’t come to fruition as they laid an egg against the Islanders who themselves aren’t very good this season. Yet another disappointing week all around for the team.
Looking at the schedule the rest of the way, there’s going to be more pain ahead with some nice victories sprinkled in here and there. As I said last week, we are starting to get closer and closer to the NHL trade deadline and it’s very important keep an eye on that as that will help shape the franchise into what they want to be going forward. Next week, we see the Kraken take on the San Jose Sharks on the road, return home to host the Nashville Predators before heading east to D.C. to play the Washington Capitals. Out of these games, I could see potential victories over the Sharks and Capitals. Especially I could see a win against the Capitals as they’ve been looking awful in many aspects of their game for quite some time now. It should be interesting this week to see what happens…stay tuned Seattle!
