Today was the second game of the weekend series between the Boston Pride and the Buffalo Beauts. In the first game, Buffalo jumped out to a 3-0 lead; however, after a goaltending change, the Boston Pride would score the next four goals to complete the comeback. Here is how the two teams would line up:
It would take some time but the only goal in the game was scored about halfway through the first period. The goal coming from the home side Boston Pride. A nice curl and drag move at the blue line, gave Taylor Wenczkowski a lane up the left side of the offensive zone. She would carry the puck all the way to the goal line and lay off a backhanded pass to the middle of the crease. The puck would find the stick of Amanda Boulier, who was well covered. She didn’t get a great shot off, but the puck floated by everyone and wound up in the back of the net.
Katie Burt remained perfect this weekend, stopping all of the Beauts offensive chances in the low scoring affair. The Boston Pride move up to 3rd place in the standings, only 7 points behind the Connecticut Whale.
Katie Burt of the Pride would stop all 37 shots she faced, recording the shutout; while Lovisa Berndtsson of the Beauts would face 40 shots, stopping 39 of them.
Next Game:
The next game for the Boston Pride will be a weekend series against the Metropolitan Riveters on March 5th and 6th in Newark. While the Buffalo Beauts won’t square off till March 12th and 13th against the Connecticut Whale in Danbury.
