Tonight’s evening game was between the Buffalo Beauts and the Boston Pride. The Beauts come into this game having won 3 of their last 4 games. While the Pride are looking to end their 3 game skid. Here is how the two teams would line up:
It would take a while but we would get the first goal of the game coming late in the period. The goal was scored by the visiting Buffalo Beauts. Taylor Accursi would hold the puck at the right circle, and laid a drop pass to a streaking Dominique Kremer. She managed to deke a couple of Pride defenders, and sneak a shot over Lovisa Selander.
Early in the second period, the Beauts would then double their lead in the game. Some great passing in the neutral zone led to a 3 on 2 rush for Buffalo. On the ensuing rush, some nice passing would set Taylor Accursi, who would rifle the shot past Selander and in the net.
3 minutes later, the Beauts would establish a 3 goal lead in the game. Emilie Harley would carry the puck on the right side of the ice. She performed a spin move to shake off the Pride defender and unleash a shot at the right circle that got by Selander.
Afterwards the Boston Pride would pull Lovisa Selander for Katie Burt in hopes that it would spark the team.
Which it did, the Pride would then get on the board and cut into the Buffalo lead. Meghara McManus would feed the puck to the point, which would find the stick of Mallory Souliotis. She would unleash a powerful slap shot that would get through traffic and go over Carly Jackson’s blocker.
Later in the period, the Boston Pride would get themselves a 2 on 1 offensive chance. Kayla Friesen would take the puck up the right side, and feed a nice saucer pass to Christina Putigna. Putigna would then feed the puck back to Friesen, and she had a wide open net to slot the puck home.
Before the end of the second period, the Boston Pride would tie up the game. Kayla Friesen would move the puck forward on the faceoff. She would then feed the puck in the slot through a lot of traffic. The puck would then find McKenna Brand who squeezed the puck by Carly Jackson and in the net.
In the third period, it would take till almost the end of the period for the Pride to score for the fourth time in a row, completing the comeback. Sammy Davis would carry the puck up the right side of the offensive zone. Cut towards the middle, when she unleashed her shot. The shot would be blockered by Carly Jackson, and the ensuing rebound would find the stick of Mary Parker. She knocked the puck out of the air and into the back of the net. The goal would secure the Pride victory by a score of 4-3.
Carly Jackson of the Beauts would face 48 shots, making 44 saves; while Lovisa Selander faced 9 shots, making 6 saves, and Katie Burt stopping all 15 shots she faced in relief.
