Welcome to the TXHT PHF Weekend Recap for the Weekend of Saturday, February 12th and Sunday, February 13th, 2022, plus news coming out of the weekend.
Saturday, February 12th, 2022
Game #1 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Toronto Six
- In Toronto the Six would host the Minnesota Whitecaps for their weekend series, and in the first period Allie Thunstrom would score to give the Whitecaps the 1-0 lead. In the second period Audra Morrison would score for the Whitecaps, but goals from Natalie Marcuzzi, Emma Woods, and a pair of goals from Mikyla Grant-Mentis would give the Six the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Woods and Marcuzzi would net their second goals of the game to give the Six the 6-2 victory over the Whitecaps.
Game #2 – Metropolitan Riveters v. Buffalo Beauts
- In Buffalo the Beauts would host the Metropolitan Riveters, and in the first period both teams would trade goals as Kendall Cornine would strike for the Rivs and Jenna Suokko would strike for the Beauts. In the second period Anjelica Diffendal would strike to give the Beauts the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Madison Packer would strike for the Rivs, but Cassidy Vinkle’s ealy third period tally would give the Beauts the 3-2 victory over the Riveters.
Sunday, February 13th, 2022
Game #1 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Toronto Six
- In Toronto for the second game of their weekend series the Six would take on the Minnesota Whitecaps, and after a scoreless first period Audra Morrison would strike first for the Whitecaps, but Brooke Boquist would strike to tie the game at one for the Six. Then in the third period Maegan Beres would score to give the Six the 2-1 victory over the Whitecaps.
Game #2 – Metropolitan Riveters v. Buffalo Beauts
- Back in Buffalo the Beauts would host the Metropolitan Riveters for the second game of their weekend series, and after a scoreless first period Rebecca Russo would strike for the Rivs, but Cassidy Vinkle and Claudia Kepler would score to give the Beauts the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Kendall Cornine would net a pair of goals to give the Riveters the 3-2 victory over the Beauts.

First Star – Kendall Cornine (MET)
- Cornine would three goals on the weekend as she would net a goal for the Metropolitan Riveters in their 3-2 loss on Saturday to the Buffalo Beauts. Then on Sunday she would record two goals in the Riveters 3-2 victory over the Beauts.
Second Star – Mikyla Grant-Mentis (TOR)
- Grant-Mentis would net two goals and two assists for the Toronto Six in their weekend series against the Minnesota Whitecaps. On Saturday she would record 2 goals and ann assist as the Six would defeat the Whitecaps 6-2. Then on Sunday Grant-Mentis would record record an assist in Toronto’s 2-1 victory over Minnesota.
Third Star – Emma Woods (TOR)
- Woods would record two goals on Saturday in the Six’s 6-2 victory over Minnesota, and then on Sunday she would record and assist in their 2-1 victory over the Whitecaps.
