Today the National Hockey League has announced the Rookie of the Month for the month of December 2021.
Trevor Zegras (C – ANA)
- Zegras would play in 9 games for the Anaheim Ducks, and he would record two goals and nine assist for 11 points.
- Zegras would edge out Anton Lundell (FLA), Tanner Jeannot (NAS), Lucas Raymond (DET), and Moritz Seider (DET) for the honors.
- Zegras would start the month with three straight multi-point games, and would find the scoresheet an additional three games.
- Zegras is the first Duck to earn Rookie of the Month honors since John Gibson in December 2015.
- Zegras also was the author of one of the most talked about and viewed highlights for the month of December as well.
