  • The Boston Bruins announced that they have placed head coach Bruce Cassidy in COVID-19 Protocol.

  • The NHL sent out a memo to all 32 clubs that all holiday parties and public engagements and events are effectively cancelled.

  • The NHL has fined Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour.
    • Brind’Amour was fined $25,000 for inappropriate conduct on Sunday against the Washington Capitals.

  • The New Jersey Devils announced that they have signed forward Jack Hughes to a contract extension.
    • Hughes has signed an eight year deal with an annual average salary of $8 million per season.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that they have suspended Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux.
    • Lemieux would get suspended for five games for biting Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk on Saturday night.
    • Lemieux will forfeit $38,750.00 in salary per the terms of the CBA and based on his average annual salary.

  • Detroit Red Wings v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
    • In Boston the Bruins would host their Original Six rival Detroit Red Wings, and after a scoreless first period Filip Zadina would score to give the Wings the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period David Pastrnak would score to tie the game at one for the Bruins, but Marc Staal would score to give the Red Wings the 2-1 victory.

  • Washington Capitals v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET
    • In Florida the Panthers would host the Washington Capitals as they conclude their regular season series against each other, and in the first period the kids would strike for the Caps as Connor McMichael and Beck Malenstyn would score in an 11 second span for the 2-0 lead, but 52 seconds later Joe Thornton would score to get the Panthers on the board and back within one. In the second period Lars Eller and Nick Jensen would score to grow the Caps lead to three. Then in the third period Ryan Lomberg, Eetu Luostarinen, Sam Bennett, and Sam Reinhart would all score as the Panthers pounced on the Capitals to take the 5-4 victory.

  • San Jose Sharks v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
    • In New Jersey the Devils would host the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Noah Gregor would net his first of the season to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jacob Middleton, Timo Meier, and Erik Karlsson would score to give the Sharks a four goal lead. Then in the third period Tomas Tatar and Jesper Bratt would strike for the Devils, but Meier’s second of the game would give the Sharks the 5-2 victory.

  • New York Islanders v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET
    • Postponed due to COVID-19 Protocols
  • Tampa Bay Lightning v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
    • In St. Louis the Blues would host the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Anthony Cirelli, Corey Perry, and Erik Cernak would score to give the Bolts the 3-0 lead. In the second period Ryan O’Reilly and Logan Brown would score for the Blues to cut their deficit to one. then in the third period Ivan Barbashev would score to tie the game at three for the Blues. A scoreless overtime session brings on the shootout where Ryan O’Reilly scores the lone shootout goal as the Blues down the Lightning 4-3.

  • Columbus Blue Jackets v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET
    • In Nashville the Predators would take on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period Filip Forsberg would net a pair of goals and Yakov Trenin would strike to give the Preds the 3-0 lead. In the second period Forsberg would score two more goals to give the Preds the five goal lead. In the third, Nick Cousins scores his second of the year as the Predators shutout the Blue Jackets 6-0.

  • Arizona Coyotes v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET
    • In Minnesota the Wild would host the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Clayton Keller would open the scoring for the Coyotes, but Joel Eriksson Ek would tie the game at one for the Wild. In the second period Kirill Kaprizov, Jordan Greenway, and Jonas Brodin would score to give the Wild the 4-1 lead. In the third, Anton Stralman nets his second to bring the Coyotes within two but Minnesota seals the win after Marcus Foligno nets his ninth as the Wild get the 5-2 win over the Coyotes.

  • Carolina Hurricanes v. Dallas Stars – 830p ET
    • In Dallas the Stars would host the Carolina Hurricanes, and in the first two periods Roope Hintz would score a pair of goals to give the Stars the 2-0 lead. In the third, Joe Pavelski nets his seventh. Carolina gets on the board when Jesperi Kotkaniemi nets his sixth but Roope Hintz completes the hat trick as the Stars breeze by the Hurricanes 4-1.

  • Anaheim Ducks v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p ET
    • In the City of Angels, the Ducks look to knock the crowns of the Kings. After a scoreless first period, Anaheim gets on the board first when Troy Terry nets his 14th of the year. Alex Iafallo responds with his seventh on the year to make it a tie contest. Kevin Shattenkirk follows with his fifth of the year as the Ducks take the 2-1 lead. In the third period, Cam Fowler nets his fourth, a power play goal, to give the Ducks the two goal lead. Isac Lundestrom responds with his fifth of the year to make it a 4-1 Anaheim lead. Adrian Kempe responds with his eighth of the year to cut the Ducks lead in half, followed by Iafallo’s second of the night to bring the Kings within a goal. Dustin Brown connects with his third of the year as the Kings come back to make it a 4-4 game. A scoreless overtime session brings on the shootout when Kevin Shattenkirk scores the game-winner as the Ducks get the 5-4 win over the Kings.
