Welcome to the TXHT PHF Weekend Recap for the Weekend of Saturday, November 20th and Sunday, November 21st, 2021, plus news coming out of the weekend.
Saturday, November 20th, 2021
Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Toronto Six
- In Toronto the Connecticut Whale would come to town for a weekend series with the Six, and in the first period Kennedy Marchment would open the scoring for the Whale to take the 1-0 lead. However, in the second period the Six would come alive as Michela Cava would net a pair of goals, and Brooke Boquist and Mikyla Grant-Mentis would score to give the Six the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period the Six would get a goal from Maegan Beres to secure the 5-1 victory over the Whale.

Game #2 – Buffalo Beauts v. Metropolitan Riveters
- Back home at the Barnabas Health Hockey House in Newark, NJ, the Metropolitan Riveters would host the Buffalo Beauts. After a scoreless first period Kendall Cornine, Nora Maclaine, and Rebecca Russo would score to give the Rivs the 3-0 lead, but Anjelica Diffendal would net her first career PHF goal to get Beauts on the board and back within two. Then in the third period Dominique Kremer and Diffendal would score to tie the game at three to send it to overtime. In the extra frame it would be Cassidy Vinkle with her first career PHF goal to give the Beauts the 4-3 comeback victory over the Riveters.

Game #3 – Boston Pride v. Minnesota Whitecaps
- In Minnesota the Whitecaps would play host to the Boston Pride for a weekend series, and in their first game it would be all Jonna Curtis as she would score goals in the second and third periods to give the Whitecaps the 2-0 victory. Amanda Leveille would stop all 28 shots she would face to earn the shut out.

Sunday, November 21st, 2021
Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Toronto Six
- In Toronto the Six would host the Connecticut Whale for the second game of their weekend series, and after a scoreless first period Shiann Darkangelo, Taylor Davison, and Mikyla Grant-Mentis would score to give the Six the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Catherine Crawley and Kennedy Marchment would score for the Whale, but the Six would hold off the surge and take the 3-2 victory to sweep the weekend series.

Game #2 – Boston Pride v. Minnesota Whitecaps
- In Minnesota the Boston Pride would look to bounce back after falling to the Whitecaps the night before. In the first period Christina Putigna would strike to get the Pride on the board, and then in the second period Haley Mack would score to tie the game at one for the Whitecaps. Then after a scoreless third period it would be the former Whitecap Amanda Boulier scoring to give the Pride the 2-1 overtime victory.

Game #3 – Buffalo Beauts v. Metropolitan Riveters
- Back in Newark the Metropolitan Riveters would unleash the new red jerseys as they host the Buffalo Beauts. In the first period Madison Packer would net a pair of goals and Rebecca Russo would score for the Rivs, and Dominique Kremer would strike for the Beauts as the Riveters would take the 3-1 lead into the first intermission. In the second period Anjelica Diffendal would strike on the powerplay to bring the Beauts back within one. Then in the third period Theresa Knutson would strike to give the Riveters the 4-2 lead, but Emilie Harley would score to bring the Beauts back within one. However, Russo’s second of the game would give the Riveters the 5-3 victory.

3 Stars of the Week
First Star – Mikyla Grant-Mentis (TOR)
- During their weekend series against the Connecticut Whale, Mikyla Grant-Mentis would be the key factor to the Toronto Six’s success. On Saturday she would record a goal and two assists in the Six’s 5-1 victory. Then on Sunday Grant-Mentis would score a goal and an assist in the Six’s 3-2 win to give her two goals and three assists for five points for the weekend.
Second Star – Madison Packer (MET)
- Madison Packer would lead the Metropolitan Riveters to a 1-0-1 weekend against the Buffalo Beauts. On the Saturday Packer would record two assists in the Rivs 4-3 overtime loss to the Beauts. Then on Sunday Packer would record two goals and an assist to guide the Riveters to a 5-3 victory. Packer would record two goals and three assists for five points on the weekend.
Third Star – Amanda Leveille (MIN)
- Amanda Leveille would play near perfect hockey for the Minnesota Whitecaps in their weekend series against the Boston Pride. On Saturday Leveille would post the shutout with a 43 save performance in a 2-0 victory. Then on Sunday Leveille would give up two goals on 44 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Pride.
