News

  • Dion Phaneuf has announced his retirement from the NHL.
    • Phaneuf played in 14 NHL season with the Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings.
    • Phaneuf would play a total of 1048 games, and would register 494 career points.

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues made a trade.
    • The Maple Leafs acquired forward Kyle Clifford.
    • The Blues will acquire future considerations.

  • The New York Rangers announced that Sammy Blais will miss the rest of the season.
    • Blais suffered a knee injury, and will require surgery.
    • Blais will be out of action for 6-8 months.

  • Nashville Predators v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
    • In Toronto the Maple Leafs would play host to the Nashville Predators, and in the first period Auston Matthews would strike on the powerplay to give the Leafs the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period David Kampf and Mitch Marner would strike to give the Leafs the 3-0 victory over the Predators.

  • New York Islanders v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET
    • In Florida the Panther would host the New York Islanders as they end their 13 road trip to start the season, and in the first period the Panthers would jump on the Isles as Jonathan Huberdeau, Ryan Lomberg, Carter Verhaeghe, and Patric Hornqvist would all score to give the Panthers the 4-0 lead. In the second period Kyle Palmieri would score for the Isles, but Aaron Ekblad would score to keep the Panthers ahead by four. Then in the third period Frank Vatrano would score to give the Panthers the 6-1 victory over the Islanders.

  • Ottawa Senators v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
    • Postponed due to COVID-19
  • Montreal Canadiens v. New York Rangers – 7p ET
    • At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would host the Montreal Canadiens in an Original Six matchup, and in the first period Kaapo Kakko would score to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Christian Dvorak would score for the Habs, but Chris Kreider would score to get the Rangers back in the lead. Then in the third period Julien Gauthier would score to grow the Rangers lead to two, but Josh Anderson would strike to bring the Habs back within one, but the Rangers would hold on for the 3-2 victory over the Canadiens.
  • Calgary Flames v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET
    • In Philadelphia the Flyers would honor Paul Holmgren and Rick Tocchet as they host the Calgary Flames, and in the first period the Flames would strike first as Oliver Kylington would score for the 1-0 lead. In the second period Kevin Hayes would score his first goal of the season as he knows his brother Jimmy was with him on this one as he would tie the game at one for the Flyers. Then after a scoreless third period Cam Atkinson would strike in overtime to give the Flyers the 2-1 victory over the Flames.

  • Buffalo Sabres v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
    • In Pittsburgh the Penguins would host the Buffalo Sabres, and after a scoreless first period Colin Miller and Kyle Okposo would score to give the Sabres the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Jake Guentzel would score on the powerplay for the Pens, but the Sabres would hold on to win 2-1.

  • Arizona Coyotes v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
    • In St. Louis the Blues would host the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Kyle Capobianco would score for the Coyotes to take the lead, but Jordan Kyrou would strike to tie the game at one for the Blues. In the second period Brett Hayton would score to retake the lead for the Coyotes, but Torey Krug would strike to tie the game for the Blues. Then in the third period Hayton would net his second of the game to give the Coyotes the 3-2 victory over the Blues.
  • San Jose Sharks v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET
    • In Minnesota the Wild would host the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Mario Ferraro and Timo Meier would score to give the Sharks the 2-0 lead. In the second period Joel Eriksson Ek would score for the Wild, but Erik Karlsson would strike to keep the Sharks ahead by two. Then in the third period Tomas Hertl would score to give the Sharks the 4-1 victory over the Wild.
  • Edmonton Oilers v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET
    • In Winnipeg the Jets would take on the Edmonton Oilers, and in the first period Adam Lowry would strike to give the Jets the 1-0 lead. In the second period the Jets would take flight as Nikolaj Ehlers, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Mark Scheifele would score to give the Jets the 4-0 lead. Then in the third period Leon Draisaitl would net a pair of goals to get the Oilers on the board, but Kyle Connor would score to give the Jets the 5-2 victory.
  • Detroit Red Wings v. Dallas Stars – 830p ET
    • In Dallas the Stars would host the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period Ryan Suter would score to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jamie Benn and Roope Hintz would score to give the Stars three goal lead, but goals from Filip Zadina and Dylan Larkin would bring the Wings back within one. Then in the third period Jason Robertson would score a pair of goals to give the Stars the 5-2 victory over the Red Wings.

  • Carolina Hurricanes v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p ET
    • In Vegas the Carolina Hurricanes would come to town to take on the Golden Knights, and in the first period Tony DeAngelo and Sebastian Aho would score to give the Canes the 2-0 lead. In the second, Brett Howden scores his second and Shea Theodore socres his third to tie the game at 2-2 for Vegas. In the third, Carolina gets another pair of goals hen Seth Jarvis scores his second and Vincent Trocheck scores his fourth as the Hurricanes get the 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
  • Washington Capitals v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p ET
    • In Anaheim the Ducks would hos the Washington Capitals, and 3:32 into the first period Cam Fowler would score to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead. Ryan Getzlaf’s assist on the goal would give him his 1000th career NHL point. After a scoreless second, Garrett Pilon scores his first NHL career goal to tie the game 1-1. The Ducks re-take the lead when Trevor Zegras scores his fifth on the year. The Capitals tie the game at 2-2 when Tom Wilson scores his fifth of the year. Late in overtime, Zegras scores his second of the game to give the Ducks their 1000th franchise win and the 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals.
