  • The NHL has fined Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tony DeAngelo.
    • DeAngelo has been fined $2,000 as supplementary discipline under NHL Rule 64 (Diving/Embellishment).
    • DeAngelo’s first offense was on Oct. 31st against Arizona which resulted in a warning.
    • DeAngelo’s second offense was on Nov. 6th against Florida which resulted in the fine.

  • The Columbus Blue Jackets announced that they will be announcing Rick Nash’s #61 on March 5th, 2022 against the Boston Bruins.
    • Nash will be the first player in Blue Jackets franchise history to have their number retired.

Game Recaps

  • Edmonton Oilers v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
    • In Boston the Bruins and Edmonton Oilers would honor the late Colby Cave before the game, and then in the first period David Pastrnak would open the scoring for the Bs, but less than a minute later Evan Bouchard would score to tie the game at one. In the second period Zach Hyman would score for the Oilers, but goals from Brad Marchand and Brandon Carlo would give the Bruins the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Leon Draisaitl would net a pair of goals and Cody Ceci would strike to give the Oilers the 5-3 victory.
  • Calgary Flames v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
    • In Montreal the Canadiens would host the Calgary Flames, and two minutes into the game Mikael Backlund would score to give the Flames the quick 1-0 lead. However, Ben Chiarot would score to tie the game at one, but Andrew Mangiapane would strike to retake the one goal lead for the Flames. In the second period Brendan Gallagher would score to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Nick Suzuki and Jake Evans would score to give the Canadiens the 4-2 victory over the Flames.

  • Los Angeles Kings v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
    • In Ottawa the Senators would face the Los Angeles Kings, and after a scoreless first period Anze Kopitar would score on the powerplay to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Andreas Athanasiou would score to give the Kings the 2-0 victory over the Senators.

  • New York Islanders v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
    • In New Jersey the Devils would play host to the New York Islanders, and in the first period Janne Kuokkanen would strike shorthanded to give the Devils the 1-0 lead. In the second period Tomas Tatar would strike on the powerplay to grow the Devils lead to two. Then in the third period Dawson Mercer and Dougie Hamilton would score to give the Devils the 4-0 victory over the Islanders.

  • Florida Panthers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
    • In Pittsburgh the Penguins would take on the Florida Panthers, and in the first period Teddy Blueger would open the scoring for the Pens, but Frank Vatrano would strike to tie the game at one. In the second period Evan Rodrigues would score to give the Pens the 2-1 lead, but in the third period Aleksander Barkov would score to tie the game. Then after a scoreless overtime period it would be Jeff Carter in the shootout to give the Penguins the 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

  • Washington Capitals v. Detroit Red Wings – 730p ET
    • In Detroit the Washington Capitals would come to town to take on the Red Wings, and in the first period all the goals that were needed would be scored. The Caps would strike for two goals in ten seconds as Dmitry Orlov and Lars Eller would score to give the Capitals the 2-0 victory over the Red Wings.

  • Nashville Predators v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
    • In St. Louis the Blues and Nashville Predators would do battle, and in the first period Jordan Kyrou would net a pair of goals for the Blues to take the 2-0 lead. In the second period Matt Duchene and Luke Kunin would score to tie the game at two for the Preds. Then in the third period Yakov Trenin would score for the Preds to take the lead, but Vladimir Tarasenko would score to tie the game and send it to overtime. In the extra frame Duchene would net his second of the game to give the Predators the 4-3 victory over the Blues.

  • San Jose Sharks v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET
    • In Winnipeg the Jets would host the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period both teams would trade tallies as Andrew Cogliano would score for the Sharks and Kyle Connor would score for the Jets. In the second period Nate Schmidt and Jansen Harkins would score to give the Jets the two goal lead. Then in the third period Pierre-Luc Dubois would strike to give the Jets the 4-1 victory over the Sharks.

  • Vancouver Canucks v. Colorado Avalanche – 9p ET
    • In Colorado the Avalanche would take on the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period the Avs would dominate as Valeri Nichushkin, Gabriel Landeskog, and Mikko Rantanen would score to take the 3-0 lead. In the second period the Avs would keep it going as Logan O’Connor, Darren Helm, and Devon Toews would score to grow the Avs lead to six. Then in the third period Nils Hoglander would score for the Canucks, but JT Compher would score to secure the 7-1 victory for the Avalanche.

  • Minnesota Wild v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p ET
    • In Vegas the Golden Knights would host the Minnesota Wild, and in the first period both Paul Cotter and Jonas Rondbjerg would score their first career NHL goals to give the Knights the 2-0 lead. Vegas then jumps out to a 3-0 lead when Jonathan Marchessault scores his seventh of the year. In the third, Minnesota scores a pair of goals when Jared Spurgeon and Ryan Hartman score but the Wild comeback is not enough as the Golden Knights get the 3-2 win over the Wild.

  • Anaheim Ducks v. Seattle Kraken – 10p ET
    • In Seattle the Krakenwould take on the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period Mason McTavish would score to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead. In the second period Trot Terry and Josh Mahura would score to give the Ducks the three goal lead, but goals from Jaden Schwartz and Jared McCann would get The Kraken back within one of the Ducks. Kevin Shattenkirk scores his fourth to give the Ducks the two goal lead once more. In the third, Jordan Eberle nets his eighth of the year to bring Seattle within a goal once more. However, Hampus Lindholm gives the Ducks the 5-3 lead. McCann responds with his second of the night but Sam Carrick scores his fourth of the year to make it a 6-4 Anaheim lead. The Ducks seal the win with Troy Terry’s second of the night as the Ducks down the Kraken 7-4.
