The Blues only had two games this week, both on the west coast against the LA Kings on Wednesday 11/3 and the San Jose Sharks on Thursday 11/4. This was a tough week with Ryan O’Reilly and others on the COVID protocol list, but the Blues managed to get 3 points.
First, against the Kings, the Blues played valiantly, but lost 3-2 in a shootout. Brayden Schenn got the scoring started midway through the second, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead on the power play. Arthur Kaliyev tied it for the Kings midway through the third. The Kings took a 2-1 lead, but Torey Krug tied the game with less than 10 seconds left. The Kings took the shootout though to win the game 3-2.

The Blues traveled to the Bay Area on Thursday 11/4 for a late one against the Sharks. Brent Burns got the scoring started against the Blues’ backup Joel Hofer midway through the first. Brandon Saad equalized it a few minutes later with a shorthanded goal. Logan Couture got that goal back, also shorthanded, late in the first to make it 2-1. Buchnevich tied the game with 15 minutes left in the second, but the Sharks got it right back less than a minute later to take a 3-2. That was all the offense the Sharks would muster, but the Blues got 3 more – another from Saad, James Neal, and an empty netter from Robert Thomas (which was assisted by Hofer), to give the Blues a 5-3 victory.
