Hello again, Ladies and Gentleman. Today we are going to review the last week of games in Montreal Canadiens hockey with game recaps, box scores, what needs to be worked on going into the next game and finally conclude with next week’s contests.

Tuesday, October 26, 2021: Montreal Canadiens at Seattle Kraken
TXHT’s Game Recap: In Seattle the Kraken would host the Montreal Canadiens in what would be their first trip to Seattle since 1919. In the first period Jordan Eberle would open the scoring 62 seconds into the game to give the Kraken the 1-0 lead, but Mike Hoffman would score later in the period to tie the game at one. However, Branden Tanev would strike shorthanded to give the Kraken the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Yanni Gourde scores his first goal as a member of the Kraken to give Seattle the two goal lead. Just shy of two minutes later, Tanev scores his second goal of the contest to give the Kraken a commanding three goal lead. As this contest moves to the third period, Seattle takes the commanding 5-1 lead and first win for the Kraken at home when Ryan Donato scores his second goal of the year at 5:14 in the period.

Things to focus on in the next contest: Attack the net. The time for falling asleep is over. The Canadiens desperatley need a win going into the their next contest and it would boost morale even more.

In the first, Mike Hoffman scores his third of the year to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead. In the second, Alexander Romanov scores his first and Brendan Gallagher scores a power play goal, his first goal of the season, to give the Habs the 3-0 lead. Late into the third, Josh Anderson scores his first goal of the year as the Canadiens get the 4-0 shutout win over the Sharks.

TXHT’s Game Recap: In Los Angeles, the Montreal Canadiens look to win their second game in a row. In the first period, Montreal gets on the board late when Josh Anderson scores his second goal of the season. In the second, the Kings tie the contest when Viktor Arvidsson scores his second of the season and LA takes the lead for good when Arthur Kaliyev scores a power play goal, his first goal of the season. As the contest shifts to the third, Rasmus Kupari scores the Kings second power play goal of the afternoon. The goal is Kupari’s second on the season and the Kings take the 3-1 lead. Alex Iafallo then scores his second of the season to give Los Angeles a three goal lead and at 14:16 in the period, Iafallo scores the Kings third power play goal in the game to give the Kings the 5-1 lead. Montreal then scores a shorthanded goal when Ben Chiarot scores his second of the season but the Kings breeze by the Canadiens for the 5-2 win.

Things to focus on in the next contest: Go back to the drawing board and figure out what happened between the San Jose contest and this one. Giving up three power play goals is not a good sign and shows how weak the penalty kill is for the team.
