Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of October 18th through 24th.
First Star – Kyle Connor (LW – WIN)
- Kyle Connor would earn top honors after recording five goals and three assists for eight points in three games played for the Winnipeg Jets. Connor would start the week by scoring a pair of goals and recording an assist in a 6-5 overtime loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. Then on Thursday for the Jets home opener against Anaheim, he would lead the Jets with another three point game (2g, 1a) in their 5-1 victory. To close out the week on Saturday, Connor would record a goal and an assist in the Jets 6-4 victory over Nashville.

Second Star – Connor McDavid (C – EDM)
- Connor McDavid would find himself in the NHL Three Stars for the second week in a row as he would record three goals and five assists for eight points in three games played for the Edmonton Oilers. McDavid would begin the week on Tuesday with a goal and two assists in a 6-5 victory over Anaheim, and then on Thursday McDavid would reach the 200 goal plateau as part of a two goal and one assist effort to guide the Oilers to a 5-1 victory over Arizona. To close out the week McDavid would record two assists in a 5-3 win over Vegas on Friday.

Third Star – Ilya Sorokin (G – NYI)
- In four games played Ilya Sorokin would go 3-0-1 in four games played for the New York Islanders. Sorokin would post a 0.99 goals against average, a .971 save percentage, and two shutouts. Sorokin would kick off his sophomore campaign with a 39 save performance in 4-1 victory over Chicago on Tuesday, and then 29 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss to Columbus on Thursday. Then Sorokin would record back to back shutouts to end the week as he would make 26 saves in a 3-0 victory over Arizona on Saturday and on Sunday 42 saves in a 2-0 victory over Vegas.
