- In Washington DC, Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau would record his 500th career point in the Flames 4-3 overtime victory over the Washington Capitals.

- New York Rangers v. Ottawa Senators – 1p ET
- In Ottawa for an early afternoon matinee, the Senators would host the New York Rangers. In the first period the Sens would strike first as Nick Paul would strike 41 seconds into the game to take the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Josh Norris would score 64 seconds into the period for the 2-0 lead, but the Rangers would get goals from Chris Kreider (PPG), Ryan Lindgren, and Barclay Goodrow to give the Rangers the 3-2 victory.
- Calgary Flames v. Washington Capitals – 1p ET
- In Washington for the other afternoon matinee game, the Capitals would host the Calgary Flames. In the first period the Flames would torch the Caps and chase Vitek Vanecek from the crease as they would get a goal from Andrew Mangiapane and a pair of goals from Elias Lindholm to give them the 3-0 lead. Then in the second period Evgeny Kuznetsov, Martin Fehervary (first career NHL goal), and Alex Ovechkin would all score to bring the Caps back into the game and tie the score at three. After a scoreless third period overtime would be required, and Elia Lindholm would complete the hat trick to give the Flames the 4-3 victory over the Capitals.

- Anaheim Ducks v. Minnesota Wild – 6p ET
- In Minnesota the Wild would look to tame the visiting Anaheim Ducks, but the first period would be a fast paced one as Rickard Rakell would open the scoring 1:18 into the game for the Ducks to take the 1-0 lead. However, the Wild would respond with goals from Brandon Duhaime and Jared Spurgen to take the 2-1 lead, but Troy Terry would respond with a goal to tie the game at two. Then in the second period Rakell would net his second of the game for the Ducks to retake the lead, but a goal from Jon Merrill would tie things back up at three. After a scoreless third period Ryan Hartman would strike to give the Wild the 4-3 overtime victory over the Ducks.

- Nashville Predators v. Winnipeg Jets – 7p ET
- In Winnipeg the Jets would host the Nashville Predators, and in the first period the Preds would strike first with a Colton Sissons tally, but a little over a minute later Adam Lowry would tie the game at one for the Jets. In the second period Nick Cousins would score for the Preds, but goals from Pierre-Luc Dubois, Paul Stastny, and Kristian Vesalainen to give the Jets the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Roman Josi and Philip Tomasino would score for the Predators, but goals from Stastny’s second of the game and a Kyle Connor tally would give the Jets the 6-4 victory.

- Detroit Red Wings v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
- In Montreal the Candiens would take on their Original Six rival Detroit Red Wings. In the first period Dylan Larkin would open the scoring for the Wings, but then it would be all Montreal. The Canadiens would get first period goals from Ben Chiarot and Mike Hoffman to give the Habs the 2-1 lead. Then in the second period Christian Dvorak would score and Mathieu Perreault would net a pair to grow the Habs lead to four. In the third period Perreault would score to complete the hat trick to give the Canadiens the 6-1 victory over the Red Wings.

- Colorado Avalanche v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET
- In Tampa Bay the Lighting would look to black out the Colorado Avalanche, but in the first period Gabriel Landeskog would strike to give the Avs the 1-0 lead. In the second period Mathieu Joseph would score to tie the game at one, but Mikko Rantanen would strike to retake the one goal lead for the Avs. Then in the third period Nathan MacKinnon would score for the Avs, but goals from Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point would tie the game at three and send the game at overtime for Tampa. After a scoreless extra frame this game would require the shootout and it would be Cale Makar in the sixth round to give the Avalanche the 4-3 victory over the Lightning.
- Buffalo Sabres v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
- In New Jersey the Devils would host the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period Dylan Cozens would strike on the powerplay for the Sabres to take the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless sceond period Nico Hischier would net his first of the season on the powerplay to tie the game at one and send the game to overtime for the Devils. In the sextra frame Pavel Zacha would strike to give the Devils the 2-1 overtime victory over the Sabres.

- Florida Panthers v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET
- In Philadelphia the Flyers would host the Florida Panthers, and in the first period it would be Jonathan Huberdeau scoring his first of the season while on the powerplay to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Claude Giroux would strike on the powerplay and Cam Atkinson would score while shorthanded to give the Flyers the 2-1 lead, but lackadaisical play by Giroux would allow Owen Tippett to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Giroux’s poor play would allow Huberdeau to get a shorthanded break to score and take the one goal lead for the Panthers. The Panthers would ice it with a Sam Reinhart empty netter to defeat the Flyers 4-2.

- Toronto Maple Leafs v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
- In Pittsburgh the Penguins would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs,a nd in the first period Drew O’Connor would open the scoring for the Pens to take the 1-0 lead, but Jason Spezza would strike less than a minute later to tie the game at one for the Leafs. In the second period Mike Matheson, Jason Zucker, O’Connor, and Marcus Pettersson would all score to give the Pens the 5-1 lead. Then in the third period Brian Boyle and Evan Rodrigues would score to give the Penguins the 7-1 victory over the Maple Leafs.
- Carolina Hurricanes v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET
- In Columbus the Blue Jackets would host the Carolina Hurricanes, and in the first period Jesper Fast and Vincent Trocheck would score for the Canes to take the 2-0 lead. In the second period Boone Jenner would score for the Jackets while on the powerplay to bring them back within one, but a powerplay goal from Jordan Staal would give the Canes their two goal lead back. Then in the third period Sebastian Aho would score and then Trocheck’s second of the game would give the Hurricanes the 5-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.

- Los Angeles Kings v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
- In St. Louis the Blues would host the Los Angeles Kings, and in the first period Alex Iafallo would score to get the Kings on the board first, but goals from David Perron and Ivan Barbashev would give the Blues the 2-1 lead. In the second period Perron would net his second of the game, and Jake Neighbours and Ryan O’Reilly would score to give the Blues the four goal lead. Then in the third period goals from Dustin Brown and Carl Grundstrom would give the Kings some life, but a tally from James Neal, and Perron’s third of the game to complete the hat trick would give the Blues the 7-3 victory over the Kings.

- New York Islanders v. Arizona Coyotes – 9p ET
- In Arizona the Coyotes would host the New York Islanders, and in the first period the Isles would strike first with a Cal Clutterbuck tally for the 1-0 lead. In the second period Brock Nelson would score on the powerplay to grow the Isles lead to two. Then in the third period Anthony Beauvillier would strike to give the Islanders the 3-0 victory over the Coyotes.

- Vancouver Canucks v. Seattle Kraken – 10p ET
- In the first ever game at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, the Kraken would play host to their regional rival Vancouver Canucks. In the first period with 3.2 seconds left in the period Vince Dun would strike for the first Kraken goal at home to give them the 1-0 lead. In the second period Bo Horvat would score for the Canucks to tie the game at one. Then in the third period Mark Giordano would score his first as a member of the Kraken to give them the 2-1 lead, but Horvat would strike for his second of the game and Conor Garland would score for the Canucks to take the 3-2 lead. Justin Dowling would get the empty netter to give the Canucks the 4-2 victory to spoil the Kraken’s home opener.
