2021-22 Preview

The Nashville Predators enter the 2021-22 season with a lot of key players departing. In goal Pekke Rinne has called it a career and leaves Juuse Saros as the number one goalie in Nashville’s net. The Predators would go out and sign David Rittich to back up Saros, and bring stability to their crease.

On defense the trade finally happened and the Predators shipped Ryan Ellis to Philadelphia for Philippe Myers, and Erik Gudbranson would depart via free agency. Despite the loss of Ellis, Myers is a good young defender, and the overall core of the Predators defense is still intact.

On offense things still look a little bleak for the Predators. Ryan Johansen and Matt Duchene have been very underwhelming with their production and are proving to be horrible contracts for the Predators. The departures of Calle Jarnkrok, Viktor Arvidsson, and Erik Haula is a shakeup to their depth, and will look to others for offensive production, but overall, it could be rough season offensively.
