Veteran Ade Joins The Riveters

A nugget of NWHL news today, as veteran defender Rachael Ade will join the Metropolitan Riveters for Season 7.

The defender, who hails from Salisbury, MD, played 4 years of college hockey at the University of Vermont. During her senior season, she was named captain of the team. In those 4 years, she played 143 career games, which is good for 5th all time in the program’s history. She’s amassed 11 goals and added another 21 assists for 32 career points.

After college, she would play for the Connecticut Whale. During her rookie season, she would play 16 games, tallying 2 assists. During her second season, she would play 15 games, scoring twice and adding another assist for 3 points. During those 2 seasons, she would also garner some playoff experience, having played in 2 games.

During the 2019-2020 season, she would play in the PWHPA, for the Tri-State team. During the 2020-2021 season, she was a late addition to the Connecticut Whale during the league’s time at Lake Placid. She would only play 1 game for the team.

The defender will now enter her fourth season in the league, and her first season with the Riveters. She’ll bring a veteran presence on the blue line, and she’s more than capable of getting good shots on the net and creating chances.

TXHT will continue to provide NWHL coverage as more signings and news are announced.
